Delay in PR processing (>10 months!)

Hey Guys,

I submitted my application for Canadian PR under express entry on Sept 17, 2018. Per my account the process should have been completed on Mar 17 2019. I still have not received a passport request.

I have been in touch with the customer service team. They are saying that my documents are looking fine, it's just that the process is taking longer. Does anyone here know what could be the reason for delay? Is it a matter of concern or could it be that things are fine and its just taking too long? Is anyone else also facing.

Below are the details I am seeing in the account

Review of Eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements
Review of Medical Records: Oct 12, 2018, you passed the medical exam
Review of Additional Documents: We do not need additional documents
Interview: You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes
Biometrics: We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes (I had applied for a tourist visa so they have my biometrics from that application)
Background Check: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information
Final Decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made
Application is being processed in Nova Scotia

Also, I am traveling to Canada on Tourist Visa next month. In case I receive a request for passport then, can I do the further processing from Canada itself?

Appreciate any help that you can provide.

Any file takes longer than 6 months might be under extra security screening. Regarding to the timeline, please refer to this:

took us a year, took some people more. it's all normal. as long as there's no rejection, it's all good.

Nothing once the application is submitted.
Before submission, making sure that you have read and followed all the instructions, provided all documents and explained any discrepancies in loe helps in a smooth process.

So I spoke with customer service last week. Apparently the delay is 'coz they had not assigned a Visa Officer to my application till July. So it seems that the VO started reviewing the application in July. Hoping that they complete the process soon!
