Hello ,

One of my friend who has got a MBBS degree from Pakistan is going to apply next month. She is thinking of submitting her MBBS degree from Pakistan as a language proof. Kindly advise will it be accepted ? Anyone submitted degree from Pakistan as a language proof and got accepted ?

thanks

It shouldn't be a problem. I also suggest submitting transcripts from the university.

Giving degrees as Language of proof isn't acceptable, criteria is to give IELTS original transcript to attain points for English language.

Unless the medium of instructions is stated as English, it probably won't work.

It worked for us. What I did was, I included degree and transcripts (Mbbs). But most importantly I went on the university website and found that it is mentioned online that the medium of instruction in the university is English. I printed that page and highlighted the line which stated the medium of instruction and included with application. Faced no issue.

Is the question regarding FSW? in that case please go through http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=596&t=5

I have a PhD degree from a well reputable UK university in a full time study, and I wrote it as a proof of language as well as an IELTS exam that I took when I immigrated to Canada in 2008. When I requested the ATIP notes, I found that they wrote the IELTS as the language evidence.

@Informatics..

For me typing a reply here is not to discourage you budz, but for your application not to get rejected after all the hard work and time you put in :) :)

Thanks for the concern ! This is for my friend . For myself I intentionally didn't use my degree . However wanna double check for her before submitting everything next month.

I used the following and it was accepted

1) Degree
2) Transcript
3) Letter from University verifying that medium of instruction used was English

If you cant get a letter then the other option to get a print out from the official website verifying that medium of instruction is English should be good enough.

I just sent a copy of my diploma (from a University in the US) as my language proof. It was accepted.

Hi Informatics,

I agree with CanadianLove3. It might have worked for some. But if the Medium of instruction is not stated on the certificate, then you cannot show it as Evidence. Getting a letter from the University is a good idea.

You don't want to have rejection of your application after all the hardwork/time just for this. Especially for degrees from non English speaking nations.
