Hello everyone,
I need some useful suggestions and help regarding my CRS points. I applied for express entry online in january. My overall CRS score were 379. That time my CLB was 7(L-6.5, W-6.5,R-8,S-8). I appeared for IELTS again n my CLB raised to 8(L-7.5,W-6.5,R-6.5,S-7). I expected that my CRS points will increase. Bt i dnt know why my CRS decreased to 371 instead of increasing.
Please help me to figure out where the problem is.

Thanks
Akvinder

CRS points are awarded for each section of test separately, and I can see you have scored less on some sections the second time around. You should update your profile with the scores of the previous test or try to sit the IELTS again.

Hi, it is indeed confusing, and I'm not sure how the overall CLB 8 was awarded.
Although the grade of the Listening part of your exam increased from 6.5 to 7.5; unfortunately, both reading (from 8 to 6.5) and speaking (from 8 to 7) have decreased.
By the looks of it, they award the points not based on the overall IELTS result (i.e. 7 or 8), but based on the results of each section instead, so probably that is why the CRS decreased. Just looking at the numbers, your first exam results are actually better than the second, because they are higher on the CLB scale for Reading and Speaking.

Does your birthday fall between Jan to Mar?

Yes, with every additional year you lose 5 points, but since your CRS decreased by 8 points, it seems that there is more than one reason for the lower CRS.
Looks like CLB is defined section-wise, and accordingly points are awarded, so though his overall CLB has increased, section-wise CLB in 2 sections has decreased considerably which may have reduced language points as well

Yes this may be the case...bt still i feel points should hv not been decreased...it should remain the same as before instead of decreasing...
