You can get PR, land, and then go home for up to 3 years to arrange things to your liking before you start your life here.

Hi Dobes! Would you mind telling me where or if I can find this information at the CIC website?

Thanks!

dobes is inferring that from the rule that you need to be resident in Canada for at least 2 of the next 5 years (from the time you get PR status) to retain your status. Technically, that means you can activate your status, go home and not return for 3 years, come back and stay in Canada for 2 years and still retain your PR status.

Great Asivad! Thank you very much!

Arrgh, now I'm unsure of my primary NOC.

So, as it was mentioned above, I chose NOC 1111 and I indicated the day I left school as the day I somehow became qualified for accountancy. In the meantime, NOC 1111 specifes that an accountant should have a degree. I do have A degree, but not THE degree, for it has nothing to do with accounting.

NOC 1231 wants a bookkeeper to just have a school-leaving certificate. I can boast that all right.

Duties-wise I did practically everything that's enumerated in both NOCs (in my home country we don't differentiate btwn the two roles and the education isn't a prerequisite either). Is there a chance my 1111 NOC will be deemed wrong on the grounds of inadequate education?

Yeah, and is NOC 1231 FSW type?
