Just wondering, why does it takes longer for visa exempt country applicant to get a COPR?vis1 said:Please keep posts in this thread on topic. Applicants from visa-exempt countries are not requested to submit their passports (no PPR). The process isn't drastically different, but oddly enough, the time lines apparently can be longer.
I think we all would like to know thatBhim said:Just wondering, why does it takes longer for visa exempt country applicant to get a COPR?
Are you allowed to stay here if your work permit expires?YVR2013 said:I got DM on May 29, no update yet.
My current work permit expires on July 14, so I e-mailed CIC what to do next. I don't really want to spend the money for a new temporary work permit and than receive my COPR shortly after.
You would think, but some of us have been waiting for quite a while. Although I do know about some quick DM to CoPR case too, so it varies.Igbin said:COPR makes the journey shorter!
I will have to apply for a new Temporary Work Permit before my current work permit expires I suppose. Still waiting to hear back from CICvis1 said:Are you allowed to stay here if your work permit expires?
I think it's very reasonable to get your MP involved at this point. There's this range of 2-8 weeks quoted by some for contact after DM based on what CIC supposedly told them. Out out curiosity, when emailing them, did you include all of the detailed information they ask for to identify you? I don't want to send that kind of stuff by email. I'd order notes too, but it takes a month, and I really hope to hear from them by then, as I've been waiting since the first week of May.utopie said:I have been waiting for 2 months. Nothing. No reply to any of my emails. I ordered my notes again (last time I had passed everything up to RPRF) and I should have received them yesterday but so far I have not had anything. I have no idea what is going on with my application and this is becoming really hard on my nerves. I am waiting another week before going to my MP.
I did include all of the info otherwise they won't reply (at least that's what they say on the CIC website). Maybe a fax would have worked better but it's too late now: contacting them through different channels can confuse them (once again that's what they say on the website). What I find odd and somewhat disturbing is that I am not receiving my notes that I ordered on May 16. I did not receive a notice of extension either which they are supposed to send you within 30 calendar days if it is needed.vis1 said:I think it's very reasonable to get your MP involved at this point. DId they requested copy of passport from you ?YVR2013 said:I just got my PPR, not what I expected but stoked I`m moving forward!
They usually ask for it when they send out PPR email.YVR2013 said:Yes, biodata and copy of my passport and 2 photos. Already sent all of that with my application but will send it again as soon as I get home from work today.
Congratulations. the surprising part is if you are from a visa exempt county, why did cic not issue you a COPR.YVR2013 said:Yes, biodata and copy of my passport and 2 photos. Already sent all of that with my application but will send it again as soon as I get home from work today.
