Actually when my first medicals was about to expire, I had wrote to Chris Alexander (Immigration Minister) and I got reply from his office in less than a month. In their reply they explained that it is at final stage. The funny part is, the day I got reply from his office, I got re-medical request on the same day.

I think you guys can write him nicely that our passports are stuck there from more than 10 months etc. It is worth a shot.

I advise you to prepare remaining applicants list like small spreadsheet, this will help you to track process of them from this thread

I got visa in Jan 2014 and Landed in Toronto in Mar 2014.

hope the undermentioned points will be of help:

CIIP session : It will be good if you attend one, but in case you are unable to attend for any reason PM me you email id and i will send you the useful websites mail that they share with everyone.

Shopping : Obvisously you will need to shop, but dont overdo it, as you will find everything here at the same price.

Life here: probably a lot different from your home country

Quality of life : Good

I wrote my experiences in detail..an somehow it got erased. .. will share sometime later ..have to leave now.

Guys... I know I have bombarded with so many links... but try to go through some of them at least so that you are better prepared for Canada and know what to expect once you land here.

My advice:
1. Do as much research as possible. Try to know about this country and system as much as possible.
2. Talk to as many people as possible, make as many friends as possible. I am helping other ppl this way and also seeking help.
3. Contact all your old friends who have landed here before you, try talking to your relatives over here (if any)..
