My brother applied for a visitor visa (45 days) with his wife & daughter. My brother runs a business in Delhi, wife is a grade 12th maths teacher, daughter in grade 8. We got all the documents (sufficient funds, FDs, investment property, leave letter from both schools stating dates of travel, pay stubs, ITRs, invitation letter, our funds etc) They don't have travel history to US, UK etc, no previous Canadian visa. They got rejected stating this:

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/section-179.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:

• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.
• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).

I believe it's a generic reply. Anything else we can do to reconsider? Does explaining with a letter help?

They are giving these reasons to pretty much every application that is getting refused. My cousin also applied recently along with her husband and their daughter. They got the same reasons, their application was refused within a week. They applied again and same thing happened, it was refused within a week.

Btw how long were they planning to visit? And how much funds did you show on primary applicant’s application?

Hi All,

I wanted to share my father’s TRV application timeline and seek any insights or advice:

  • Application Date: December 20th, 2024
  • Biometrics: Reused from a previous application (2020)
  • Country of Application: Nepal
Additional details:

  • He held a valid TRV until January 25th, 2025, and has visited Canada twice, returning each time.
  • He also possesses a valid U.S. visa.
  • Strong Travel History: Frequent travel to the U.S., Europe (Schengen), Japan, the UK, China, and Australia.
The latest update on the IRCC tracker (as of December 23rd) shows that the background check is in progress. Since then, there have been no further updates.

If anyone has any insights or similar experiences, I’d greatly appreciate your input!

Thanks in advance.

I’m trying not to be worried but I’m also in the same shoes.

Applied for my mom’s TRV on Dec 31st 2024 Biometrics letter was sent Jan 1st 2025
Biometrics done Jan 12th 2025

Tracker says background check in progress since Jan 13th.

She has a quite wide travel history. What could be the delay ? :’(
