I guess the excitement is building up for next Monday when the little army of investigators get to their new desks, and each one of them is assigned 100 December cases..if the speed is as we expected, then they should be done calling and requesting additional docs for all December applicants by mid October.

I tried to open that job posting but it no longer exists. There are 2 possibilities -

1) Many people applied and OINP has hired sufficient officers.
2) No one showed up - Our fates are sealed. The job posting expired based on the date set initially.

I wish the first one has happened. However, even if the officers join on Monday, they might have to be trained on policies and operating procedures. Might take a while. Nonetheless, this is progress. This is good news.

thanks for checking out man.
it's usually the first one so that people don't keep on applying.

@ rajkamalmohanram, The second option is not possible, because otherwise they would put another job posting immediately :D :D :D

Hope they find out staff who has worked in other PNP and already are experienced.

yes, that's the key thing. if not, then the new hires will take a few months at least to ramp up.
adding to our wait times in the end :(
the common man always suffers :(

I think the new stuff should have already passed through training sessions before put on action. They are mainly hired to speed up the processing time not delay it more.
I expect to see more actions in the near future. hopefully we will all get nominated soon before mid October.

Friends:

1. Hope OINP got the response to their advertisement and the applicants came forward and applied.
2. Well, normally experienced candidates won't like, apply for 4 - 6 months contract jobs. The candidates who are independent consultants, officers
who are free for 4- 6 months might have applied.
3. How do we know that the officers have joined?? There is no list of OINP staff on the website. Contract employees may not be a part of the list.
4. Irrespective of any job, the new recruits will take some time to understand the policies, procedures, processes. IF ANY??
5. This initiative, OINP should have taken at least 3 months in advance, anticipating the work load.
6. Processing 5500 - 6000 is not at all a daunting task. If OINP is determined, it can issue the NoM's.

Let's hope OINP works diligently to complete the inventory and backlogs and start the next fiscal 2017 afresh.
:'( :'( :'(

Anything happened "diligently" in the past week?

Sorry, was out.
