After getting pretty impatient I finally emailed cpc and they replied back saying my application is still with CIO and hasn't been transferred to them problem is I have quite a bit of loe regards my work exp and other documents, so it's bothering me that what if all this wait is futile and god forbid something goes wrong.. what is going on??!!

No one can tell what's going on at this stage. It could be that they are taking time to determine the completeness of your application due to your LoE

I submitted my application for Work permit on 22nd December 2017. Status updated about January 18th which said that I passed my medicals and my background check went on to Not Applicable. Since then there have been no updates in the status.

Depends. I believe if you had a BG of In Progress after passing your Medicals, and then it became Not Applicable, then you're in NA2.
Otherwise it should be NA1, someone can correct me if I'm mistaken.

BG: I never saw it in In progress status. It NA
