December 2024 - Citizenship Applications

Hi All,

Need some advice. I helped my wife for filing application and I just find out that I had to provide the name before marriage in question 5. I didn’t mention anything about it. I refer the guide today and it says please mention before marriage name and place of birth exactly as per passport.

Also in place of birth it is not exact as per passport for both of our applications. Because the palce of birth indicates city and state together in one line. I made this 2 mistakes however I got the AOR already.

Should I inform IRCC about this mistake via webform? I don’t want them to consider any misrepresentation in my application.

Will appreciate your advise in this matter. I just find out 2 days ago as my friend told me, now I am worried.

Has anyone had to give biometrics for a Canadian citizenship application, due to a similar/matching name with someone else's criminal record?

Where can biometrics be given for citizenship applications? Either from within or outside Canada (I live near the border). I am currently applying for a 5(4) grant due to the changing regulations with the first generation limit to citizenship by descent.

Got an email, the application portal has not refreshed to show the change of status yet. Is there some status tracker separate from the application portal?
Also, my AoR letter is signed by "Citizenship Official" from "Sydney, NS"- is this where my application is being processed? Or just a general IRCC location that they sign of AoR's with?

I have a qq, My spouse submitted the online application and got an AOR on dec 17th as i mentioned above. She also got a request to submit police certificate from the USA as she stayed more than 183 days during the PR period. She submitted a FBI police certificate on the same day via the webform as ircc requested. She also called IRCC and confirmed that it was received on dec 22, 2024 by them. But the online tracker still shows they are waiting on her about that document. anybody have an idea if this is fine or the online tracker portal is infrequently updated to catch these updates?

Once processing officer works on your file, the tracker alert will go away.

Looks like the tracker does not cover solo-citizenship applications (unless you are sponsoring a spouse/dependent child. But thank you nonetheless.
