hi, I’ve received 4 ghost updates since feb 9th including one today as well. I’d love to know for sure what they mean if anyone does know? Otherwise all I’ve been able to find online about them is that potentially they are updates from a case officer but they could be things like changing office where it’s being processed or filing something into evidence etc. I’ve passed everything now other than BG being not started so I’m just hopeful my ghost updates are related to my background being checked.

Hi all,

has anyone been experiencing ghost updates in their PR tracker? My tracker has been updated feb 9th, 14th and 15th but I can’t find any changes anywhere and background check still says not started.

also for anyone concerned about accessing the tracker I couldn’t get in until after I received eligibility approval and the pre-arrival letter. It seems to be very random as to when you can get access.

I've gotten ghost updates for the last 4 days, in another forum seems like people are getting it everyday too we're thinking it might just be system updates?

Just waiting now for the PR Card. I'm so glad this all went smoothly and quite fast.

Can you send photo instructions from the portal? Is it the same as previously requested, Digital? Or it has to be paper and stamp at the back?

We just used same photo as we sent with the application. They also allow photos taken with phone as long as it has white background and no shadow. They will give you instructions once you're at the portal to upload photo.

There are options:
- digital
- scanned image of photo taken professionally
- photo taken with phone
That's how an agent will be able to review photos.

My hubby's photo kept on saying that it has shadow but it was taken at London Drugs and was good. I guess on our part it was due to scanning it with the phone. We sent it anyway and got approved. It will be reviewed by a real person.

But your best bet will be digital if you have that. Most people gets a new set of photos taken just for peace of mind.

Here I thought we're almost out of the woods.
On my Husband's eCOPR, they got my name (Sponsor's name) wrong.

They still entered the name I used when I landed (previous marriage name) back in 2012. UCI # and all other info are correct.
Before we applied for sponsorship, I had my name changed all across the board. Even my citizenship certificate is now in my new name. But my UCI remained the same of course.

When we applied, I of course used my current name and had to declare previous names used.

Would this error have any effect on my husband's COPR?
Is it worth it to send amendment request. I have read on here that it takes a while for amendments to come back.

Husband has no dependents. He is from the US.
We paid for the open work permit right away but never got around to applying for it. I guess there is no point in applying for that anymore???

I am the applicant and got the same timeline as yours, but nothing since Medical Completed on 29 December. I called IRCC few days ago, the agent confirmed that my background check and eligibility haven't started, and they are working on sponsor eligibility. My application is still in Mississauga visa office.

Does anyone know is my application still in Mississauga office means it is still at very early stage? A bit worry for 2 months no updates.
