Did you recently take citizenship test? If yes, this issue gets resolved by itself in 1-2 days and your test status is updated on tracker.

This change is being promulgated by an amendment to regulations and does not need an act of parliament to affect the change. This regulation comes into affect as soon as it is registered after the comment period (along with amendments) in the Canada Gazette. So, it will be much faster than the time it takes for a bill to become law by an act of parliament

The proposed change is an attempt by immigration officials to reduce processing time and backlogs.

However, critics warn the move would drastically change the decades-old ritual for generations of newcomers and with a click on the keyboard, further dilute the meaning of Canadian citizenship.



is this for real yes? i guess for those submitting application in Dec 2022 might experience taking oath on their own then after this June then.

Ghost update: Feb 18, 2023
Background Verification: Completed on Feb 20, 2023 as per tracker (Though the update was reflected today in tracker on 22nd Feb).

Test invite: March 28, 2023 (Window: March 31 to Apr 20)
Test date: Apr 01, 2023

Me and my spouse, both passed with 20/20..

I completed test yesterday itself. Had to convince my spouse that she is well prepared and exam is not tough Eventually she agreed and now test is done.
