How can your eligibility be from Dec 18 when your application is submitted on Dec 17 ?Location: Bradford, ON
Application Type: Single
Physical Presence Days: 1116
App sent Date: Dec 17, 2020
App Delivered date: Submitted online
5 years eligibility: Dec 18,2015 to Dec 18,2020
I know the first time it was returned on Jan for a missing checkbox.Wow! Sorry about this your situation. Did you contact IRCC customer service or send a CSE to ascertain what is really going on? If something is inherently wrong, sending multiple copies of your file might not solve the problem. #myopinion
It was done online and it doesn't give an option to change the date on the physical presence calculator as it's pulling automatically. How can your eligibility be from Dec 18 when your application is submitted on Dec 17 ?
I think this is totally fine. I'm on the exact same situation (student, then work permit, then PR).Hello Everyone,
I have sent out my paper citizenship application today and there is one section that I am still a bit confused about. I know this is something that I should have looked into prior to submitting, and to be honest with you I did. I did call IRCC and here is the information that I was given and I wanted to get a second opinion from this forum.
Question 9:
During your five (5) year eligibility period did you have Temporary Resident or Protected Person status in Canada before becoming a permanent
resident?
I answered YES.
Now in the last five years I had international student and post graduate work permit status.
So in the table below the Question 9 where i had to input the status and the dates i have done the following:
I had international student status from 2014 to 2017 followed by work permit from 2017 to 2018.
Now based on the conversation with IRCC agent, I entered:
International Student from 2015 to 2017 (Since according to the agent they are only interested in the last five years, and I did not enter the actual dates of my International Student status).
So here I sit and wonder if this is something critical? From my understanding they only care about the last five years, so the fact that I put 2015 to 2017 should be sufficient, however, I would just like to confirm that there will not be issues with me not putting the actual issue date.
Please let me know what do you guys think. Would really appreciate your input.
Thanks
Thanks a lot for sharing this. I also hope this isn't something worth making a fuss about. Happy holidays!I think this is totally fine. I'm on the exact same situation (student, then work permit, then PR).
On the physical calculator I also only put student from 2015 - even though I was a student for few years before that - as it was clearly bolded and specified that they only wanted the info from 2015 to 2020.
On the actual application form, I put 2013 (rather than 2015) to match when the study permit was issued. So if anything, I have a mismatch there which isn't ideal, but I truly genuinely believe you're fine as they do indeed only care/look for the 5 year eligibility period
