Hello everyone,

The waiting is killing me. I havent received the Test Invitation yet.
I have called IRCC many times and had my MP contacted IRCC and nothing happened.

Anyways, has anyone renew their PR Card? How long did it take to receive the new card? Mine expired in April.

Thanks!

Below is my timeline:
App Sent: Dec 10, 2019
App Received: Dec 13, 2019
AOR Received: Feb 19, 2020
Study Book received by email: Feb 19, 2020
Started Processing Application: Feb 28, 2020
My family sent their PR renewals in April and still don't have them. I hadn't sent mine because I stupidly assumed surely it wouldn't be that much longer on my citizenship application but now I have to send mine this week and hope one of the two is done before I have to travel for work in Jan. Ugh! According to their processing times it's like 120 days for a renewal and 40 for a first application, like what? Lol

You don't need a PR card to attend Oath ceremony. Expired one works, and if you lost it, you can fill out the form and submit it.
Yes, I know, thanks. But if I'm not mistaken, if they issued a new PR and it's shown in their system but I haven't received it by the date of Oath, I will need to sign one more document. I can't find the link with the exact info.
PS: I applied for renewed PR card for international travel purpose mainly.

I don't see in the Oath invite that you have to sign anything if you have not received it. Other people said they will likely cancel it if it has not been issued.

Really? So it may happen that they won't issue it since the oath is scheduled? good to know, thanks!

Thank you for the info Raj!

I sent my passport information promptly and after a week the "Interview Required" line disappeared from my tracker. After a couple of days, the Background Verification changed from "Completed" to "In Progress" again - I got new update on my tracker:

August 16th:

"Background verification activity status updated"

"Background verification status has been updated to In progress

I sent them my fingerprints in April 2020 which should be expired by now, however the tracker was updated 2 days ago and I got no email or notification asking for a new fingerprint file (Not even in the spam folder).

Did anyone have a similar experience? I mean, should I just send them a new fingerprint set (If so should I use the same address information they provided in the first request?) Or wait for them to properly notify me?

I was wondering if anyone gone through this tracker update without having to submit a new fingerprint set...

Hey Guys

Just a quick follow up, id anyone have a similar experience with the background check going from "Completed" to "In Progress" and didn't receive any notification for sending a new Fingerprint set? I am not sure what to do here!

Thanks

Sorry I just checked the oath invite again. So you are right you still need to fill out the form if you have not received it. It is the same form if you lost your PR card.

This is the link to the form:

OMG!!! The wait never ends!!
I thought that by now I would have my passport that is why I didnt renew my PR in April.

As per your timeline you are about to have your passport. Congrats!!
It took 5 months for my family for PR renewal

I'll let someone who received a FP request answer this. I have seen some posts suggesting you could get FP done without letter from IRCC (just follow the same instructions shown in your previous letter) but I am not sure how true/correct this is.
You will receive email from IRCC for new FP, it can take few weeks but you need this.

Right! I was looking for that! Thank you very much for the info and the link! I'm ready for this scenario, if needed ;)

What are the chances I will get my citizenship done before mid November? I would like to go back to India for some time around December but my son's passport and PR card is expired, we did get ours renewed though, I was hoping that we will get our citizenship done and we wouldn't have to go through the process of getting passport and PR again, but I guess IRCC is busy clearing the 2020 and 2021 online applicants. Now, even if I apply for passport and PR renewal it might take more than 3 months and in the same time I might get citizenship done or am I being too hopeful?

Anticipating that my FP would be expired and I would be asked to submit a new one, I did use the previous letter from IRCC to get a new FP upfront. As soon as I received letter from IRCC, I had it submitted. That submission was approved as Background check was changed to "Completed" again

Hey TokyoH

I didn't understand what you meant by "As soon as I received letter from IRCC, I had it submitted" ,as per my previous experience with my first FP request when I went to the Commissionaires to have my FP taken with the letter I received, they submitted the file from there.

Can you please elaborate a bit more on what you did?

Thanks

FP are submitted directly to RCMP by the authorized center. How did you get it and submitted yourself to IRCC? Don’t think it works like this.

It is different in my city. I applied for FP at local police with the letter from IRCC. They worked with RCMP and returned a hard copy of FP to us. Then we submitted those papers to IRCC
