No update on my application as per July 27th update :( , still the same status, everything is in progress although test is done. I am guessing I wont receive anything till September because that is when my fingerprints from last year will expire

I have received 2nd request for fingerprints and submitted today. How long does it take to change the Background Verification status from in progress to completed?

I am from Montreal and my application timelines are as follows:

Application Received: 19 December 2019
AOR: 17 February 2020
Fingerprints Requested: 27 February 2020
Fingerprints Submitted: 17 March 2020
Test Invite: 26 May 2021
Test Completed: 28 May 2021
2nd Fingerprints Requested: 26 July 2021
Fingerprints Submitted: 27 July 2021

Called and they told me prioritising other categories than citizenship , covid 19 to blame . I am so tired of this delay I dont feel hopeless and stressed .

And at the same time they keep on processing 2020 applicants and arranging their Oath... Nothing personal, I'm happy for them, but IRCC can't blame COVID and delay 2019 while processing 2020. It looks like a trend nowadays.

Yes covid became the new excuse. Everyone got vaccinations and lets get it over with. Let see how long this can take. Really disappointing and depressing

The worst part: Few offices even moved on to 2021 test invites as if these offices finished with oath for all of 2019/2020 & before.
So the same story carried to 2020 too - watching later applicants getting done with oath.

They have easy reasons: Covid. If not they label as Complex / Non-Routine. :oops:

It took them 2 months in my case. Can be different for different people.
