Hi @legalfalcon and others
I have ordered my GCMS notes.
Under travel doc# for me(principal applicant) it is reflecting my child's passport number.
For my child and wife, correct passport numbers are reflecting.
What should I do to get this corrected?
Please advise and many thanks in advance.

Usually, this is not a big issue. You can send a web form and point this error.

Hi @legalfalcon : I have received GCMS notes just now. What does it mean by "Application Assignment Due Date" ?
Assignment due date is a system-generated date to keep a tab on the applications and remind the concerned individual. In most cases the applications will be processed way before it and for other it will keep pending way past it.

Hey Guys, I'm a silent participant been reading this forum for a year now, I want to share my timeline and see if anyone has a similar case?

My Timeline
  • FSW-O / VO: Paris
  • EE profile submitted: 3 May, 2019
  • Ontario letter of interest: 22 May, 2019
  • OINP received: 18 November, 2019
  • ITA: 27 November, 2019
  • Upfront Medical: 8 December, 2019
  • Submitted Application - AOR: 11 December, 2019
  • Biometrics Approved: January 13, 2020
  • PPR: 20 October, 2020
  • Change in Marital status submitted: 19 November, 2020
  • Additional Papers requested for spouse: 16 December, 2020
  • Additional Papers submitted for spouse: 23 December, 2020
  • Spouse dependent added to PR application: 15 January, 2021
  • Spouse biometrics already existed on file: November 19, 2019
  • Spouse medical passed: 2 February, 2021

I read that usually adding spouse post PPR usually take 2 to 3 month and due to Covid its extended but its been 6 month with no updates at all since medical for spouse passed in Feb, do you think there is still hope to receive new PPR this year ?

Hello @legalfalcon

I wanted some advice. My FSW file (Inland applicant, Ottawa office) from December 11, 2019, is still pending with security and background yet to start. Medicals have expired. I got married this month and my husband happens to be a permanent resident. I have to update this in my file right, how should I go about it and could there be any repurcussions? Also, for a PR now, shall I take the route of my husband adding me to his PR or shall I continue to wait for my current file to process. There has been no movement in my file since 2020 Jan!

Also, I am currently on student visa that will expire in September. How much time will it take to process student visa extension, when should I consider applying? Thank you so much!

If your family composition changes, you have to inform IRCC. Since your spouse is a PR, you will not have to provide any documents such as medicals, PCC etc. You only have to inform IRCC, you will be asked to fill in some forms and provide proof of PR.

Instead of extending your student visa, you can consider BOWP if you are not studying full time.

Thank you so much! However, I will be studying full time. I need an extension to complete my course. So I guess the study visa extension is something I will have to consider. Thanks for the response again. It helps

Hello @legalfalcon I n
The COPR and PR visa is usually issued for 6 months, or until the passport / meds expire, which ever is earlier. However, the visa officer's have a lot of discretion to extend the validity of COPR / PR visa.

IF you get the meds done, they will be valid for 1 year from the day they are passed.

In most cases for US residents the COPR is issued by CPC Ottawa and takes 3-5 weeks.
Hello @legalfalcon I got one more question so I have renewed my Passport recently and updated it via web form. You have made clear that Passport update does not slow down the process. Thank you for that answer. When I received my New Passport obviously my old passport was cancelled. So whenever PPR comes, will I be submitting both of my passports or the latest passport?

You only have to submit your current valid passport.
