@legalfalcon I got one question more Sir. So I have a Visitor Visa as well and I can travel to Canada also as my sister is living there. If I go to Canada on a visitor basis and tell them that I am in Canada right does that help the case to speed up PPR or COPR process or anything good happen as I will be already in Canada for lets say 4-5 months? Also a question regarding GCMS Notes if my friend, PR of Canada can she apply GCMS notes individually on my behalf with my consent form? That should be perfectly fine right?

Irrespective of whether you are in Canada or not, it does not help to expedite the process. All that changes is that you will be issued a cOPR electronically without having to submit your passport.

Yes, any person who is a PR, citizen, or currently present in Canada can apply for GCMS notes.

Hello @legalfalcon , I have a quick question. I am awaiting PPR since Nov 2019. Now as things are getting normal I am hoping we will get the PPR soon.
I am planning to India for next two months. Do I need to inform them about the trip. Also If I receive the PPR while I am in India ,can I process from there ?
Could you help me answer these please ?
Thanks !!

There is no need to inform IRCC of your trip.

If you receive a portal email, you can not proceed and get a COPR, unless you are physically in Canada. This is because as soon as the eCOPR is issued to you, all other visas will be cancelled as you are a PR as soon as you have a cOPR and you will need a PRTD to travel.

If you receive a confirmation which you are outside Canada, you will have to inform IRCC that you are physically not in Canada.

Actually I need to correct my question. I am a USA resident (FSW-Outland). Do I need inform the trip ? and Can I process my PPR from there ?

Also do you suggest to postpone my trip until I receive my PPR as things going forward between US and Canada border.

Thanks Again !!

COPR received yesterday. I have been observing this group for a good year and a half. Thanks for all the input and help. Good luck all, I'm sure you will all be getting the golden email soon!

FSW UK based applicant, aor Dec 17th 2019, Montreal visa office, copr validity till 6th July 2022.

I'm off to Canada in early September to go diving for sea urchins.

You do not have to inform IRCC of any travels. You can travel anywhere.

If you are a US resident and not from a visa-exempt country, you will be asked to submit your passport at the LVO, which for most US residents is Ottawa. If you intend to stay in another country for a long time, you can inform IRCC to change your VO to that country or submit your passport when you return.

@legalfalcon I'd really appreciate your take on when IRCC might start clearing the backlog and start issuing COPRs for those whose applications have been approved after March 2020. Do you think this can happen soon and will it depend on the country of residence? Thank you!
