It does seem so. Stay patient. IRCC is so slow... and there is a huge backlog and seems like they are not processing older applications... Ugh.
I also asked them specifically if I have passed the 3 stages of criminality, security, and eligibility. They said I have cleared successfully in the last 30 days. I cant believe they are taking a year. On the other hand I see a lot of new applications are getting approved. I was curious to know why they are not processing older applications? Any idea?

I do not know. There is talk that they are trying to hit 'normal processing times' quota. Also, most people who are getting their PRs are outland. I haven't seen a lot of activity from Ottawa office, where my case is. Bad luck.

Yes I heard so that they are giving preference to outland applications. I live in Vancouver. Do you know which one will be my VO? Generally what's the process after a background check is done? Do they give ppr or do they do any additional checks?

I live in Vancouver too :) If you are CEC-inland, your primary office is most likely Ottawa, and secondary Vancouver. After background check, the final officer approves the case and then is PPR (or CoPR duding covid). I think the next step for us is this: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/pr-confirmation-portal.html

Thank you
Once approved what if I travel alone and my wife cannot travel due to pregnancy. Can I add my child after I land or is it possible for my wife to add child since he would not land before travel. What are steps to be followed.

If your family composition has changed you have to inform IRCC and they will send you the forms that you have to fill in and send back.

After you marry, you can send a webform and inform IRCC. IRCC will send you some forms and ask for the following documents:

1. An IMM8 Application
2. Schedule A form for spouse
3. Additional Family Information form for primary applicant and spouse.
4. Fee receipt for spouse - Processing fee ($550) and right of permanent residence fee ($490).
5. Birth Certificate of spouse, translation, and affidavit of translation.
6. Copy of Spouse's Passport
7. Copy of marriage certificate and marriage registration
8. Wedding Card and Photographs
9. Police clearance certificate for the primary applicant and spouse
10. Spouse's upfront medical
11. Letter of Explanation (If required)

Your application will be reopened and after your spouses documents are processed, both, you and your spouse will be issued new COPRs (if your spouse is accompanying). This takes 2-4 months. In this process, your eligibility is NOT re-evaluated. See https://bit.ly/3gGuOC8
If I added my spouse and the application would be approved -- what if I travel alone and my wife cannot travel due to pregnancy. Can I add my child after I land or is it possible for my wife to add child since the spouse would not travel till delivery . What are steps to be followed.

What to enter in Imm0008 -- Dependent - 11 a) Will accompany principal applicant to Canada? No or Yes

If I select no,Do I need to pay Fees for Spouse, will I able to sponsor my spouse after I land.

Please let me know

I know I may sound stupid but is there any chance that my pr might get rejected even after the background check is cleared.
The only scenario that I could imagine is that you involve in some terrorist activities directly threatening Canadian security. However, I don't think it's a realistic possibility since most Economic Immigrants are only normal people who want to come and settle down, do their business, and live a peaceful and fair life that they have been dreaming of for a long time.

Hello sir ...my aor is 23 dec 2019. I got my Gcms notes on 24.11.2020. Primary office Ottawa and secondary NDVO. File location is Ottawa. Application status is ‘approved’ and in the note 1 section says FILE RFV. My counterfile was generated on 17.10.2020. Valid up to 30.03.2021. I have not received any communication from IRCC till date. Do I need to contact them or I shud just sit back and wait?
thanks for the help in advance......
