I don't mind waiting until next year. Canada takes the COVID-19 pandemic really seriously and I am glad that they have been doing great about that. If the government keeps allowing people from around the world to travel to Canada freely, it would be another version of the U.S. and Europe now. Be patient please since the current situation is a rational reaction from the authority and all we can do is staying safe and healthy until it's actually safe to travel. I am pretty sure that I don't want to go to Canada and expose myself to a high risk of being unemployed and a significant possibility of getting contracted with COVID-19 without any insurance coverage.
Yea I agree, it only looks good on Canada that they are staying "closed" for the rest of the world. They are doing an incredible job during this pandemic.

They are permitting applicants from the US, South Africa and Australia, so all your praise is negated.

I understand slowing the process for outland applicants for now but why stop working on inland applicants files. By just stopping their files you are just causing more trouble to them than not. Anyways let us all stay positive and hopefully things start getting better.

South Africa and Australia, really? Where is the source, I only know the US.
It was reported in several whatsapp groups with screenshots.

Despite what they formally allow, no one is receiving CoPR from outside Canada. Not from US, not from South Africa and not from Australia. They are in practice closing the borders to everyone, which is understandable. What is not understandable is why they are not saying it clearly and closing the border officially for, e.g. 6 months, so that people can make plans.

Hi @legalfalcon

I am in the same situation as @Annie01 , although Inland. Do we need to update passport info for a dependant? (All stages are passed for us, pending Final Decision.

Thank you!

@legalfalcon my daughter's passport will expire in December, we have already gotten a new one for her, please do I need to scan and send the new one as an additional document?

Outland applicant

AOR 20th December 2020.

If the passport is expiring, you should get it renewed ASAP. Once done, you have to send the scan of the passport to IRCC via webmail. Before IRCC can send a decision on the application, they have to verify that the passports are valid for at least 6 months or more. Also, when a PR visa is issued, it cannot be issued beyond the validity of the passport. If IRCC is not aware that the passport have been renewed, they may just issue a visa with less validity.

If your eligibility is passed, the chances of rejection are next to zero, barring any criminality, security or misrepresentation.
@legalfalcon thanks for your reply.
I again raised a web form after 2 months since I got their reply that decision is made. This time the agent reply was precised enough and told me the following;
. Your eligibility requirements under the immigration program for which you have applied are passed.

· The security verifications are currently valid.

· The criminality verifications are currently valid.

. The medical examination results on file are valid.

what should I understand from this pertaining to my application as there is nothing mentioned about background check..is it all ok and I should relax and wait for PPR?

BGC is the phrase used for Criminality + Security. Everything looks in order, when IRCC starts sending PPRs, you too should receive it.

August AOR I got an update in my acc that on sep 8 2020 u passed the meadical exam does that mean IRCC extended my medical.
