Totally normal and I am in the same boat! According to the spreadsheet that tracks everyone who gives their stats on this forum, there are 48% of December 2018 applicants who are in the same situation as us :)

You can check it out at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...kTeM2_AofgT_8b4uTJyBh9pXdg/edit#gid=566701841
I just finished talking to the call center, not much they can provide, nor can they explain why some applications take shorter/longer than the projected 12 months period. But at least they can tell you, things are in order and nothing is outstanding. My wife's application is from Dec and in process since March. Hang in there.

Hello everyone,

I became a Canadian citizen on October 11. For those who were wondering about travelling to the USA by road using the Citizenship Certificate, yes you can do that as long as you have a valid USA visa. I left for the trip i had planned on friday right after the ceremony and it was quite easy getting back into Canada. All i needed was my citizenship certificate and a valid government issued ID card. I hope this information helps someone. Wishing everyone still waiting the very best!

Just my guess, but I reckon it is because Peel Region is one of the largest regions in the GTA and also has one of the highest (if not the highest) number of immigrants.
