Hi,
Please update my status. Application returned for below reason. They are referring to my kids birth certificates.
"The foreign language documents that have been translated are missing. We require copies of the foreign language documents and their translation"

I will include the originals and resend the same application. Hopefully I will not wait for another two months to get a feedback.
Please do not send originals. They r specifically asking for copies of birth certificate and translation. So again DO NOT SEND ORIGINALS as you r not going to ger them back

One question to all those who received AOR.

Do we get the application number in the AOR email? will UCI (Unique Client Identifier) remain the same one as our PR application or are we assigned a new UCI for citizenship?

Thanking in advance,

Thanking in advance,

1. Yes you will get your application number in your AOR.
2. Your UCI will remain same for all the future applications. It may be PR card renewal or Citizenship.

Thanks

Hi I am wondering if someone could advise me. My application was sent back as I didnt put my children's birth certificate in. It was sent back along with my husband and my application (ours is complete)

My question is should i send the application as is along with the missing document as well as a cover letter saying that we are resubmitting and have added the missing documents.

Also does anyone know if we must make the payment again. The letter on our childs application says we have not taken the funds.....but then it says if we want a refund we must contact them.....just want to know

I would recommend to add the missing document and write a cover letter explaining your situation and add the copy of CIC return letter.
No need to pay the fee again. Just send the application with the receipt of fee payment (done originally).

As Nav2132 said, I don't think you need to pay for all applications again. when it is a family package and one application is incomplete they return all applications with two options as follows:

Two options will be offered to them:
  1. resubmit the application with the missing information or document; or
  2. request the refund of the fees paid if the applicant no longer wishes to submit their application.

Hope it helps and supports the advice.

Hello Admin,

I got the AOR this after noon eastern. However, i am not able to check the status in the ECAS - it is not recognizing the UCI or application number. May be ECAS takes some time to update? Any way, Please update the progress path in the spreadsheet:

Thanks Zmaqsood for your reply. I will send a copy of the original along with a copy of the translation.
Another question. Should I get both copies (of original & translation) notarized/certified/affidavit or just a simple photocopy of the original and staple it to the translation? Thanks again.

Hello Admins, could we add the link of December 2018 - Citizenship Applications discussion to the December 2018 tab of the spreadsheet. like it is on August 2018 tab of the spreadsheet. Just makes the navigation easier :)

See below para from instruction guide

"
Translation of documents
You must send the following for any document that is not in English or French, unless otherwise stated on your document checklist:

  • the English or French translation; and
  • an affidavit from the person who completed the translation (see below for details); and
  • a certified copy of the original document.
Translations may be done by a person who is fluent in both languages (English or French and the unofficial language).

If the translation isn’t done by a member in good standing of a provincial or territorial organization of translators and interpreters in Canada, you must submit an affidavit swearing to the accuracy of the translation and the language proficiency of the translator. A certified translator will provide both a certified translation and certified copies of the original documents.

The affidavit must be sworn in the presence of:

In Canada:

  • a notary public
  • a commissioner of oaths
  • a commissioner of taking affidavits
Authority to certify varies by province and territory. Consult your local provincial or territorial authorities."
