Thank you so much for your reply. I asked the question as nick name is mentioned as an example of the names that should be reported in question 6. The only thing that I am confused is if nick name to be reported only when that appeared anytime in any legal documents (e.g., passport, birth certificate etc.) or regardless of it being used in any document.

Hi, Both are accepted as proof of language proficiency. My wife took CELPIP LS(listening and speaking), and you are expected to have 4 or higher in both, the scale for this test goes up to 12, to give you an idea. They(CELPIP) have sample test examples. https://www.celpip.ca

To me it seems that you should have received email or letter from immigration department - check your junk folder or/and letter box daily.

Hi folks,
Have one query: my son(minor) Passport is already expired last year and wife's PP is going to expire in july'19. We landed 29th March 2016. We will be eligible for citizenship applying after March 2019. If I will apply straight after March 19, I need to show PCC. And for PCC, BLS required at least 6 months validity which is almost not possible to do. But if I will apply after September 19, I don't need to do all that process. Only saving some time and money because not planning to go India. Can i apply without valid Indian passport for my son and wife? I will use driving licence or health card as a id proof. I really appreciate, if experienced person (who had similar situation) can provide me guidance. please send me any link where to check this.

yes, you can apply for citizenship without valid passport but you will have to mention the reason of not having valid passport in your citizenship form section 14 B. An example as below:

"I DID NOT HAVE ANY VALID PASSPORT BETWEEN <DATE it expired> TILL <Date you sign the application>. DURING THIS GAP PERIOD, I DID NOT TRAVEL OUTSIDE CANADA."

If they take you seriously, you might be a subject for jokes and discussions at morning meetings or coffee gatherings. you might end up at Justin T's desk.
At the same time, they might understand that while they are hoping for skilled immigrants, they are not getting what they say, in the media, they get.
