I think it would be returned already. mine was returned, I was October applicant keeping an eye on the October thread and I've noticed that all of the returned applications came back just before others started to get AORs.

I first applied in sept. 1 st week and mine was returned exactly 3 months later (dec 1st wk), way after everybody around me got AORs.
I wonder how the guys at IRCC work.

And the helpline agent will never tell you it has been returned even if it has been. I called them
a few days before I received my returned appl. , he said " your appl. has probably not been opened yet"

Oh wow, mine was sent mid October and returned December 7th.
It really is a mistery..

I noticed on the spreadsheet you got your AOR. but I have not.
Even though mine was received before you ; dec 6. I have a feeling they will return mine again for some stupid reason.

I don't understand why it takes TWO months for CIC to just acknowledge that they have received the package.

It is not just acknowledging receipt, they also check it for completeness. So if there is a document missing or an unfilled field, they will return it to you.

a quick question here: after "Application Received" indication in ecas (AOR received by the applicant), is there still any possibility that the officer may, for some reasons, return the whole application to the applicant? Just curios when they usually send it back, before or after AOR. Thanks!

They issue AOR only when they make sure the application is complete. If it is incomplete, AOR is not issued and the application is returned to the applicant.

Family Day is observed only in New Brunswick, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan and in British Columbia. Not in Nova Scotia where the processing office is.
