Called CIC to inquire about status. It's same for like last 1.5 month (eligibility is under additional review). Asked about GCMS notes (waiting for 40 days), she mentioned interesting thing: "People who work on GCMS notes are responsible for releasing that", she mentioned, "they might be working on the application that's why it's delayed". Heard this for the first time!

I called to follow up on the famous ghost update I noticed last Friday. Eligibility/criminality passed, security not started. Meanwhile the clock is ticking and it seems I will have to shell out for an extension after all (got 2-3 weeks left before a reasonable deadline to file for it). I really hope I will not have to retake medicals.
EDIT : case in Ottawa.

I am currently on my grace period after my F1 visa expired.
When landing in Canada, they recognize it is legal, right? Or do they go by my expiry date, which has already gone and consider me overstaying?

Thanks!

Hello everyone, need some clarification. On the basis of assumption, I attached updated docs through webform related to my employment, but after GCMS, I got to know the issue isn't in employment, it's in sibling residence docs, so there's RR on sibling residence, have attached updated docs of residence month ago and CIC given me complete employment points.
To cut the story short, will my updated employment docs affect my case ?

Canada doesn’t care, it’s only a question to be answered while or if you are coming back to the US. I know H1b has automatic revalidation if you return within 30 days. Not quite sure with F1. Suggest checking with your university’s international student advisor.

I believe IRCC is required to process any additional information provided to them whether it was requested or uploaded preemptively. You will have to read your next set of GCMS notes to see where your eligibility stands, but I think you should be fine based on what you've said.

Hi all, I've been away traveling for leisure before my move, which explains where I've been gone for the past few weeks. There are still many, many things I need to take care of before I can fly, so that's keeping me busy. I am planning to land in Toronto in the second half of August, and will look for work in Ontario and Quebec, so where I settle eventually will depend on that. I will keep checking for your udpates here from time to time.

I think it should be enough to mention the primary applicant's full name and date of birth, EE or UCI number, email and phone number(s) and the date of your AOR. Ask for the status of your application, clarifying that it's been more than seven months since you applied. Good luck!

Hey, What details should I mention in the email to Mr. Goodale's office?

Glad to hear that you have been travelling.
I have been staying away from the forum or anything that could fuel my anxiety, and I recently got ready for visa as well.
It is hard to describe the feeling.
I plan to do a soft landing in August as well and still need time to figure out my long term plan.

Wish everyone good luck. May you all be visited by a nice Canadian ghost soon! Cheers.
