Seems like every one in CIO-Sydney(especially assigned to CB00126) has to wait a little longer(including myself). I have made my peace and ready to wait till early 2020 by seeing the current trends from Sydney....
VO - Ottawa. 7 months + 9 days and counting. I am sure you would get it before 2020. Have faith. ATB.

Hey guys, is the Sydney office currently super behind? Called the CIC agent yesterday and they said that my file is currently awaiting review from one of the agents (she said it was the last step of the process). Just wondering what to expect?

Ended up emailing Ralph Goodale's office yesterday.

Got the following reply:

to me

Dear Hitesh - I spoke to IRCC regarding your application received Dec 30, 2018. It is at the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney.

Standard processing time is 6 months. This means 80% of routine applications are completed within that time frame, while 20% take longer.

Criminality passed.

Eligibility is under review.

Security checks have not been initiated. They cannot be expedited and timelines are not available.

Medicals are valid until Dec/19.

Sincerely,

Robyn Sullivan

Office of the Hon. Ralph Goodale, MP

Regina-Wascana

Looks like I have to be patient for a bit longer..at almost 7 months now.
Dear Hitkaul - sept 2018 aor - same status ..
Do you know reason for review - if not order gcms

228 days, CIO Sydney. File hasn't been touched for 5+ months. You are right. It looks like they are SUPER BEHIND.

Thanks everyone who shared their experiences and/or answered my questions. Below are some details about my experience, everything else in signature.

  • GCMS 1 - Ordered end of April, received within 30 days
    • everything was at 'Not Started'
  • Called CIC 2 times before ordering GCMS 2nd time, haven't received them yet over 30 days already.
    • I was told on June 24th that file is approved (no I did not receive an update in profile I just happened to call them about status) but awaiting to trigger PPR, told me to wait a month. And sure enough I received it 1 day over the month.
  • For PPR, I received email stating I have an update on the profile. It did not say 'Ready for Visa'. But Request Letter was placed within the application messages section

Key thing to note: I had changed NOC post ITA and I did not submit a letter of explanation for the same. I was in panic mode once I learned about rejections but wanted to wait it out for GCMS before I acted. GCMS never arrived but PPR did. So don't complicate it until you can confirm that's really an issue.

Good luck to everyone who is awaiting PPR.
