Sorry I miss read your message. If you mean that you are applying to study in Canada. Then you are able to apply for a study permit at the same time. This should not effect your PR application, when a decision is made you can let CIC know that you are in Canada and what needs to be done to get your COPR from within Canada.

Glad your eligibility is met already. In terms of predicting how much longer a PPR will take, no one can truly answer that but IRCC though the signs are that only security remains to be completed.

I am Nov 2 AOR and still have no clue what's going on with my application. Last I checked, the agent said no background checks have been initiated and eligibility is still under progress.

My application I wrote (checks express entry portal every hour) just emailed me and sent me a push notification! I skipped NA2 (or missed it within the hour) and went straight IP2.

Background check: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.

It was previously in IP1 (we will send you a message when we ...).

I will update MyImmiTracker and signature shortly. In the middle of work at the moment.

Also, even though they said they will not reply within the 6 month timeline, they told me my visa office is Sydney, Nova Scotia...

Does that mean I still need to meet eligibility or I already did?
Also the background status is the same since day 1, how can I know that they started security and criminality check? What is the estimated wait time after biometrics?

No. That email is from the application I wrote that checks the express entry portal every hour to see if the status changed.

You're in IP2, which is quite common it seems for CEC early on. You seem to skip the IP1 status, so you have less visibility into your application moving along.

Basically, you have ghost update + PPR to look forward to, whenever that occurs.

Awesome! Well, not so much the ghost update, but you know what I mean.

My current work permit expires mid July and I'm going to the US on vacation in mid May so hoping to get it through before then or in time to activate on the way back. Just gonna keep stalking the CIC site!
