This is not a ghost update. That is what most people get when they move to IP1 after MEP, but your need for biometrics messes up IP1 as previously described, and you don't have MEP due to your furtherance, so this is probably just the equivalent of IP1 where they move it to wait for someone to review eligibility before "real" IP2 while waiting on MEP simultaneously.

Keep in mind also that I have zero clue what I'm talking about in any authoritative manner and nobody should listen to anything I pull out of my butt regarding this, especially with your odd situation.
thank you. maybe after giving biometrics it will change to IP1

I don't think so, because you're already at IP2. Based on what you pasted, the only future updates will probably be ghost update and PPR.

Phone (from within Canada): 1 888 242 2100
Phone (from outside of Canada [block caller ID]): 1 613 944 4000

I asked them to tell me specifically the lines I put there (visa office, medical, criminality, security, eligibility) as they have them in their system. Otherwise, they talk in general terms like "background check" like the EE portal does. "Background" = security+criminality, but if you ask specifically, they will tell you.

If you dial the 613 # outside of Canada, you can use these options (wait until it's ready to accept an option): 1 1 1. Then you'll get transferred to IRCC (the same as the 888 # inside Canada and you'll hear a male voice). Then you can use options 2 1 1 0 to get to an operator "fast" (it's the family sponsorship information menu tree but it goes to the same phone operators).

If you follow the tree normally to get info about your application, you'll have to enter your application number, date of birth, and listen to a long read-out of its status before you get to get in a phone queue, and 2/3 the time it will just say "we're too busy. call back later" instead of putting you in a queue.
Thank you.

I will use this info after I get my IP2

Good day,

I got an update regarding my application.

Did they mean the first bullet as a document? Or is it just an error.

Thank you.
What's blurred out? UCI # and your name? If so, maybe they want the IMM5475 signed by you? Are you using a representative, and did you not already include that when uploading documents with your eAPR?

If you have any questions about what to include, I would suggest you raise a CSE immediately since it can take 1-4 business days for a reply and they have given you until Feb 13 to comply.

Yes its a UCI number and my full name. I did ask for a representative during my application but cancelled it before i passed my requirements.

Its how they formatted the letter which makes it confusing.

Thank you.

If you are not using a representative, I would raise a CSE and tell them that. They will likely remove the requirement for the document.

Follow up to this; I never received a further email mentioning the application being transferred anywhere, however, the email you're talking about does sound like the email my wife received with the same kind of tracking number. She was applying for a PRTD and sent a whole application through VFS (hence getting an ID number from them). Personally I've had no such email, but my application with CEC did update correctly.

Let's hope it's a bug. No i haven't sent any query to ask if it was a bug as it hasn't been long and now is weekend.
So i was really surprised when i got the email from Canada Visa Application Services (rather than the typical "Do not reply" mail), giving me a tracking number. The website that it links to is VFS global, and on it it was saying Visa application, tracking ID No.XXXXXX is under process at Canada Visa Office, ABU DHABI . So quite confused on whether it is linked to giving the biometrics to VFS this week or if it means my whole EE application has been transferred locally.

In my case, they requested me to apply one to design my husband as a representative. I am the main applicant.

I just got off the phone with IRCC (40 min hold time) since I wanted to know what was up after I moved to IP2 from IP1.

Visa Office: CIO-Sydney, NS
Medical: Passed
Criminality: Passed
Security: In Progress
Eligibility: Met
What do they analyze during the security part? the travel history?

That's odd. Do you have any idea why? I presume a lot of us, including me, have secondary applicants and it didn't ask for an IMM5475. Did he perhaps raise a CSE or something under his name/UCI?

Travel history, connections to organizations, security threats in combination with their intelligence partners, etc. I don't know an exhaustive lists, and I'm pretty sure they won't tell us. You can request your CSIS notes if denied, but I'm not sure how specific they get.

IMM5475 says "However, he or she will not be a representative who can conduct business with CIC and CBSA on your behalf. If you wish to be represented, you must complete and submit form Use of Representative (IMM5476)."

I was making sure that the first bullet is not a document requirement since they also used the term "documents".

I have a sibling in Canada probably that is why they asked for this document in case they interview my sister.

But they didn't tell you who to designate on the IMM5475, did they?
