I have been hearing the same from Edmonton for the past two months
Only 18 days left in my time line and bg check, eligibility are taking forever.
There are some people who received pprs with late Dec aors.
I am not sure if they would be able to complete within time lines
Anyway hope for the best :)
Mine is in Edmonton. I was told it will go beyond 6 months. My AOR is DEC 5th

from Delhi, Air Canada direct 14hr + 1hr sitting time would be fastest; however that is not operating at the moment (and a month+ more) because the airline has issues with 737Max grounding -- hence deploying available aircraft on more important routes. this results in a route with stopover: vancouver is best served by going east (china eastern/southern, both japanese airlines and Cathay Pacific) -- comes down to your budget (Chinese cheapest, HK/Japan expensive, but worth it). Toronto etc are better served by flying over Europe (Lufthansa, BA, KLM in that order)...best to take transit airport in west europe (not places like Turkey/Dubai/Qatar) and divide the journey into two approx equal halves. Due to closure of Pakistan airspace for Indian flights, you may want to go through Mumbai and then Frankfurt etc (I personally dislike Delhi-Bombay leg for international travel---they punch you with a 15kg domestic luggage limit--too many hidden T&Cs).

All this is secondary if you have money for cheapest business class, in which case Oman Air up to London + whatever from there to Toronto is great.

Regarding transit visas: most airports do not need them if you stay in transit area; though Frankfurt requires US visa on Indian passport for transit.

After you enter Canada as a PR, you can move to any part of Canada, this is your constitutional right.

However, if you enter with an intent to live in QC, and you do not have a nomination from QC, that is not allowed.

If you enter on a study permit, there should not be any issues.

Thank you for your prompt response @legalfalcon, in case I get the immigration visa in time, can I do a soft landing in Toronto and provide them with an address there and not mention my potential studies in Quebec? will the officers know at the airport even if I am not carrying any documents related to my studies (student visa, CAQ, etc. )?

Hello guys..
I have a query for post PPR.

I'm about to get COPR and planning to travel in July.
Now, the question is that,

is it necessary to land first at Toronto only, for immigration and then move to ultimate destination?

Or

is it possible to land at Ottawa international airport(my ultimate destination) and complete immigration there instead of Toronto?

I'm confused as many said that wherever you want to go, you must land at Toronto for the first time to complete immigration and then you can travel further.

I'm FSW-O applicant under Express Entry.

I would really appreciate your help guys @USProgrammer, @legalfalcon, @Peacekeeper87

Thanks in advance.
Complete nonsense.
Not only can you do your landing in Ottawa, but also any airport in Canada, including Quebec!
I have specifically asked this during my landing out of curiosity, and the agent was aware that there is some misleading info circulating online about applicants not being able to do their landing in Quebec. It was also previously confirmed by the Canadian embassy in my home country.

The only catch with Quebec is that if you give a Quebec address, they may think you're intending to live in Quebec, which is not okay. As long as you provide an address outside Quebec, you're fine.

You can land wherever you want. If you want to land in Toronto, go ahead. Ottawa, go ahead. Montreal, go ahead (just give address outside Quebec).

Hi,

AOR : December 12
MEP : 23 Jan

Status since then is IP1.

Just ordered GCMS notes and eligibility is shown as Met and Security and Criminality not started. They have mentioned about a consent letter from spouse for child as spouse is non-accompanying. I guess it is IMM5604E, which I did not upload upfront. I will be uploading it soon via webform before I get an ADR. 19 days remaining, any idea if I would be lucky enough to get it within the 6 month timeframe? Would uploading the form trigger some sort of progress on my file?

No idea. That’s what we are all hoping for ourselves.
