I am confused about what’s going on with my application. So far, everybody I’ve spoken with at IRCC has been super helpful; however, I’ve recently received conflicting information so I’m confused.

My ECAS changed to in process for background check 2 weeks ago.

When I called last week, they told me that not everybody receives an AOR2 and they told me that Mississauga will be the processing office for my husband’s Spousal visa/PR application — but typically it’s Mexico City. She said, nope don’t worry it’s going to stay and be processed in Mississauga.

Tonight, I received an email notifying me of transfer to Mexico City.

So this totally confused me. Why would they confirm one thing and then send me something different in a letter? Would there have been some movement with the process that would cause it to change?

Any input or ideas would be so helpful. thank you

Shannon

One more question - does anybody know if there's a Whatsapp group for people whose PO is Mexico City for spousal visa/PR for 2017-18? I'm in one group but they're almost all in final stages if not finished. If there isn't one, I'd be happy to form one. Please let me know

Hi everyone - just thought I'd share an update. We got a letter last night saying our case will be staying in Mississauga (we are both based in UK), I thought we would get transferred to London. I've read the Missu office can be a little quicker? - I assume this letter is Aor2?

App sent - Dec 13
Aor 1 - Feb 5
decision made for SA Feb 21
Medical Req: March 3 / Passed March 12
App being processed in Mississauga letter: March 26

Congrats!

We got the same letter yesterday too. Looks like many people got it, so I hope that it isn't going to slow the process down for the cases at CPC-M.

I believe it's considered AOR2.

thanks and same to you! It does look like a lot of people are in the same situation but I would say it will reduce time posting to another office so hopefully sorted by the summer!

Listen, this is just a bit of a whinge more than anything. I don't get it though...how/why are applications received by the CIC office in Mississauga being processed quicker than, say, ours? I just....don't get it.

It's a bit frustrating seeing outland apps received in January/February 2018 receiving SA Approved, etc., etc before apps from December 2017.

Waiting is so hard lol.

Yours may have been returned. I suggest calling the call centre to get a status update on your application

I called last night and the voice prompts said that "the eligibility of your application has not yet begun" in addition to a bunch of other updates regarding it (i.e. background info received, medical not required, etc., etc). Considering I'm calling from Australia, sitting on hold can be rather expensive while waiting for an agent.

If it were to be returned, would not the info in GCKey reflect this and/or through the voice prompts?

Added, when I look at other accounts on the December 2017 Outland spread sheet, and the time between Received and SA, some are upwards of 95 days. Ours is at 92 days. We've been asked (and have since submitted) for the background check doc and police check to be provided.

I'm assuming if it were to be returned, it would have by now :)

Still hoping!

So you got your application number??? If so then youre good!! Patience is key in this process. We went 8 months with complete silence

Yeah for sure! Got it back on the 15th of February :)

I figured that was a good sign but those stinking spreadsheets can be both a curse and a blessing lol.

ECAS/GCKey would not show any info on an app being returned. It wouldnt even get as far as ECAS or GCKEY stage.

It's not being returned though if you can link it and they've requested stuff.

Did you at least get SA or decision made on sponsor side ? It's been almost 2 months since AOR and Schedule A+PCC with ZERO updates ! So frustrating and seeing even March getting SA freaks me out
