I have just received my test invite yesterday by mail, it was dated January 4th for Test on January 22 in Mississauga. Got the usual list of required documents plus the agent had a hand written addition asking for another document ( Entry/Exit record) or proof that it cannot be obtained. I could not get it before when I was given the QA and I still cannot. Hope that doesn't cause any problems.

Hi Guys, got my oath invitation on dec 20 to do ceremony on Jan 14,2019 in Mississauga. Question for u guys, do I have to give the officials my current passport after the ceremony? Or do I get to keep it till I apply for new Canadian passport? Please let me know. Thank you!

Congratulations ! no you will be surrendering your passport to Indian High Commission after you get your Canadian Passport .

Hello there all how are you guys?.. hope you all are doing great.. i have a question .. i got my oath invite for 2 FEB (saturday).. so my question is when should i apply passport and when i will receive it?.. i m in really hurry.. i have a flight on 8 feb to backhome..

You can apply as early as the next day. The trick here is to check your ecas. if you see it's updated to "complete", you are good to go. if you have already purchased the ticket, you can get the passport on the same day choosing "urgent" service and paying additional $110 They will call your references and guarantor for sure if you choose "urgent". the other option would be to choose "express service" and you should get the passport in 2-3 days. there is additional charges of $50 for express. I had my oath on Dec 18, applied for Passport on the 19th with Express service and got it on the 21st. Hope that helps.

They also need a reason so like a ticket for ordering either of these services

1. App delivered - Dec 12, 2018.
2. AOR - Jan 29, 2018.
3. IP - March 5, 2018.
4. Interview held - Nov 14, 2018.
5. DM - Nov 15 (today).
6. # of applicants - 2 (both test exempt)

The IO was nice. The interview was smooth for about 15 minutes. She related PP stamps with the App data, checked IDs, Landing Form. Asked about job and status of kids if they were Canadian citizens too.

Concluding the interview, the IO said that all was good and that we should expect an email for oath invite for Jan 2019.

My wife and I took Citizenship Oath today Jan 17th at Windsor.
Our journey to Canadian Citizenship is finally over.
I am wish all Nov/Dec 2017 applicants in-waiting, too will reach their final destination soon.

I became a Canadian Citizen yesterday January 21st, exactly 13 months after they acknowledge receipt of my application on December 11th, 2017. The ceremony was very beautiful, held in Mississauga with almost 130 new Canadians. Wishing everyone still waiting on their application process to complete, all the best of luck. This journey is FINALLY OVER for me. I can apply for my passport tomorrow
