"Decision made" update today December 13th.

It doesn't look like we've been updated in the spreadsheet yet. We received the Oath Invitation on December 4th and the Oath Ceremony is being held on December 19th. Please update! Thank you. :)

I suggest not to do so, unless necessary. I have requested for a reschedule of my oath taking and I have not geard anything back.

Most forum members re-scheduling oath says it takes from 1 to 3 months before they hear anything from CIC.

I am not sure if they will be able to help you because you are far from the 1 year deadline. Also because you have plans to travel out of the country I dont think they will process your application urgently.
You should probably renew your PR or get a temporary travel document to travel outside the country.

I have finally received the citizenship ceremony oath invitation for January 16th, 2019. I am returning on January 31 from vacation and a very big family get together. I have come to this situation to pay around $3000 to change the flights and return on January 14th so we can go to the citizenship ceremony. We bought the tickets in summer and we can show it is a family gathering with my mom who is aging. So should I come as planned on January 31 and reschedule? Or do I change the seats and come before the oath and no need to reschedule? Any past experiences of rescheduling.

Yes 3 months is a lot of time. I'll change things on my end. It's going to cost alot but it's fine.

I am in the same boat where we've scheduled a big event on the day of Oath ceremony but I'll give preference to the ceremony because this thing is important. Will just eat-up the financial loss
