AOR’s are starting to come in! Anyone from Edmonton here?

Here’s my timeline:
Application Sent : December 01, 2017
Application Received : December 06, 2017
Application Type : Single
Location : Edmonton
AOR : Still Waiting

only superficial checks are done at the initial stage to make sure the application can be considered complete. for example stamp on the back of the photo, signatures on all required pages of the application plus the signature on the physical presence. If the language requirement is submitted or not etc.

if one is missing any of the above, we have seen the application being returned before AOR. Once the AOR is issued - the officer could still ask for more documentation or finger prints etc.

Thanks for the response. Is the finger prints mandatory for all applicants ?

Application submitted by my partner on Dec 1st and it was received by CIC on Dec 5th.

She received AOR on Jan 17th!

I have a question though.. we are going for a 3 week vacation out of the country in July. Does she need to inform cic? Her colleage applied in September and received in December an invitation for a test for end of January. That was fast!

Application submitted by my partner on Dec 1st and it was received by CIC on Dec 5th.

She received AOR on Jan 17th!

I have a question though.. we are going for a 3 week vacation out of the country in July. Does she need to inform cic? Her colleage applied in September and received in December an invitation for a test for end of January. That was fast!

Based on current timelines, I'd say she has a good chance of becoming a citizen before July. So I wouldn't bother notifying them unless the trip is coming up soon and she still did not get an invite.

My wife and I are going on vacation abroad in February. We are concerned we may miss some invite and are thinking of notifying CIC of our trip

No, not everyone receives a fingerprint request.
