This is how it is working at CIC for new applicants:
Those who have been in Canada throughout the eligible period and those who do not need security/police clearance because they have not been in another country for more than 183 days, etc, etc since becoming PR will be flying through the process as it is just a formality. Just depends on how many applications a person at CIC can vat each day. Perhaps they should contract it out to new comers who need work or maybe the refugees waiting to be processed in which case they can earn some money

Happy New Year friends.

Not sure about your comments...I have seen 2 examples in Mississauga the other way...people travelled a lot outside got it earlier than people only travelled out of canada for 42 days.

I'm still struggling with figuring out how many times I've been in and out of Canada. I've made several day trips/weekend trips to the US and I don't really know exactly what days. Although, I'm way over my eligibility in spite of those trips. Can someone please help me with the following two things:
1. What's the best way to determine the absences? Especially the road trips.
2. Sample explanation letter to go with the application stating that I may have missed some of the trips as I don't have a record of them.

Thanks in advance.

I Think I can help here. Go to US Homeland security website travel history services. You can check all your history of travel to US (In and Out). Its free and online for help purposes only. So don't worry and check your history here https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/history-search

you can get the records for last 5 years maximum of 100 records from https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/history-search

and if it doesn't help you then attach the explanation letter stating why you can't get the records and give your consent to CBSA for any enquiry to retrieve those.

Also, has anyone seen process of children under 14 years? CIC says there is no oath ceremony for them too.

A question related to this:

If one transited through US whilst travelling to South America is it necessary to list travelling to US in addition to going to South America?
