I checked last night and the PR status changed to "In Process". There are only 2 lines in eCas on the PR side, but 3 lines on SA side. So happy that things are moving along :D

Good morning beautiful people! ;D

So I heard the great news about getting SA on the phone on Friday. No email from CIC about SA yet but I'm not stressing since I was confirmed on the phone. My e-Cas hasn't been updated yet either but I'll wait until Tuesday to pester CIC agent again if I don't see any changes by tomorrow.

Now, I'm thinking about applying for the visitor visa for him. I know the chances are slim to none but no harm in trying right? :D

I'm a Canadian spouse travelling in Canada now. The first tourist visa was rejected because of 2 reasons... 1 finance 2 they were not convinced that i have enough ties in my home country

my 2nd one was approved.... i think it was because I provided an affidavit that said I would definitely leave when my visa expired and I also gave an itinerary of my trips planned for Canada like what I'm going to do for my 5 month trip.

Hi Guys!

Application Recieved Dec 16th/2015

Thanks for letting me know. Where do we obtain the affidavit from? I have enough funds and my financial situation is good too since the salary range above $80K. My husband, who I'm applying for, has a good job in his home country as well but I can understand that it might get declined based on staying in Canada for more than granted. Hence I will look into getting an affidavit to prove he won't over stay his welcome.

Also, I'm only looking for him to visit us for 2 - 3 weeks since we both won't get enough time off work. Let's see what happens. Obviously, I'll be updating everyone on the forum with the progress.

Thanks again for your insight! ;D

Congrats to all those who received their SA today ;D ;D ;D

Received my SA this morning morning too :)

An affidavit is easy. You write formal letter stating your intention to leave. Then you sign and have it notorised. This way CIC has a legal document of you promising to leave. :)

Remember to provide enough documents for finance... I didn't wanna provide my bank statements and it was a mistake. The 2nd application I did n i provided my husbands ones as well just to play safe. It worked so yay.

+1 for you! Awesome! I'll follow the steps to ensure we have a notarized letter in place prior to applying.

Yes, I already have screen shots of my Canadian Bank statements, along with pay stubs. I have my husband's bank statements from his home country as well.

Thanks for your help friend! Appreciate it.

HI You and I were in the same boat and timeframe. Today I called CICs and they investigated. Apparently I was approved Feb 6 but no email was sent. Today they since emailed me with the confirmation I suspect since someone dropped the ball and while we were approved, they forgot the email notification and follow up steps. (Maybe it was a Friday and time to go home). When you next speak to them, tell them you did not receive an notification. If my theory is correct, I was approved then the processing got lost as I too have not seen any online updates which ought to have been reflected if the approval was Feb 6. BUT we are back on track.

Our SA arrived today following a call to CICs. Apparently I was approved Feb 6 but no notification. That has since been corrected.
We are about to change our address. We are moving to Canada from the USA. As the Sponsor, I will use the Canadian Address of our new home. My Spouse who is the applicant will use a USA address so as not to confuse the "Just Visiting" status. Our Lawyer says we can use either for my spouse but we will play it safe and retain ties to the USA until the approval is in place.
