I'm a Canadian spouse travelling in Canada now. The first tourist visa was rejected because of 2 reasons... 1 finance 2 they were not convinced that i have enough ties in my home countryLanding_PR said:Good morning beautiful people! ;D
So I heard the great news about getting SA on the phone on Friday. No email from CIC about SA yet but I'm not stressing since I was confirmed on the phone. My e-Cas hasn't been updated yet either but I'll wait until Tuesday to pester CIC agent again if I don't see any changes by tomorrow.
Now, I'm thinking about applying for the visitor visa for him. I know the chances are slim to none but no harm in trying right?
Thanks for letting me know. Where do we obtain the affidavit from? I have enough funds and my financial situation is good too since the salary range above $80K. My husband, who I'm applying for, has a good job in his home country as well but I can understand that it might get declined based on staying in Canada for more than granted. Hence I will look into getting an affidavit to prove he won't over stay his welcome.ai_hopeful said:I'm a Canadian spouse travelling in Canada now. my 2nd one was approved.... i think it was because I provided an affidavit that said I would definitely leave when my visa expired and I also gave an itinerary of my trips planned for Canada like what I'm going to do for my 5 month trip.
Congrats! Just got mine too! ;DJZCANPK said:Hi Guys!
Just received my email for SA
Application Recieved Dec 16th/2015
AOR - Feb 9th/2016
SA- Feb 22nd/2016
+1 for you! Awesome! I'll follow the steps to ensure we have a notarized letter in place prior to applying.ai_hopeful said:An affidavit is easy. You write formal letter stating your intention to leave. Then you sign and have it notorised. This way CIC has a legal document of you promising to leave.
Remember to provide enough documents for finance... I didn't wanna provide my bank statements and it was a mistake. The 2nd application I did n i provided my husbands ones as well just to play safe. It worked so yay.
HI You and I were in the same boat and timeframe. Today I called CICs and they investigated. Apparently I was approved Feb 6 but no email was sent. Today they since emailed me with the confirmation I suspect since someone dropped the ball and while we were approved, they forgot the email notification and follow up steps. (Maybe it was a Friday and time to go home). When you next speak to them, tell them you did not receive an notification. If my theory is correct, I was approved then the processing got lost as I too have not seen any online updates which ought to have been reflected if the approval was Feb 6. BUT we are back on track.Landing_PR said:Good morning beautiful people! ;D
