Hi everyone,

i want to add myself in this thread. i applied pr for my spouse on dec5th 2015.
still waiting for AOR.

As the processing time is increasing now, is it a good idea to bring the spouse through visitor visa and reapply pr as inland applicant? In this case, we can get work permit for 2 years.

As the government is giving priority to the syrian refugees, there is a processing time increase in the recent weeks. i should be alright in few months.

Hi Everyone,

Mississauga has received my application December 4, 2015 by Mahmud R. I was told I can check the status of my application with Receipt Number but I can't. I think it's because they haven't started processing it yet. I hope we get a letter soon. Has anyone been able to access the website for the status of their application?

Yes, you need to be in the system before you can check. Once you receive your AOR by email or mail then you will be able to check on Ecas for status on your application. Your AOR will have a UCI & application # that you can use to check on Ecas.

Hi Guys,

we sent our application on November 29, 2015 and was delivered on December 3, 2015. Hoping to hear a good news from CIC soon.

My husband and I got married in Dubai, and we reported our marriage to Philippine embassy in Dubai and now we already have our marriage certificate in Philippines from NSO. My visitors visa is expiring this January 30 and we are going back to Philippines this coming January 18 and apply for my new visitors visa so I can come back here in Canada to deliver our first baby and wait for my permanent residency. Question #1. What would be the citizenship of our baby if he/she will be born in Philippines?, if he/she will not be a Canadian Citizen automatically what are the procedures of getting his/her Canadian Citizenship? How long is the processing? Question#2. Do we need to get married here in Canada or our wedding in Dubai is valid here in Canada?

Thank you guys :)

Manigong Bagong Taon,
Happy New Year to All,
Bonne Année :)

1. ofcourse if he/she born in philippiness, you will get only philippiness citizenship(unless your husband is a canadian citizen). if you want your baby to be a canadian citizen, get your visitor visa and enter the country asap 2. you don't need to get married again. still those certificates and photo proofs are valid.

Dear Forumites,

Hope everyone is doing good. I've recently become a Canadian PR on 5th Aug2015 now I am travelling back to India to get married in Feb2016.

After marriage I plan to sponsor my would-be wife under Family class sponsorship.

I ve gone through various threads here and checked CIC official website but still i have few queries n i ll be obliged if anybody can share their views on these doubts of mine:

1. I worked in Toronto for most of my stay but because of 1month leave I had to quit to come back to India for marriage, as I understand in sponsorship approval they ll also scrutinize my financial ability to support my future wife.

My query is wt weightage this "employed status" has in SA, is it like black n white that if no job no approval kinda thing. I do have sufficient funds available (over CAD 13000) in Canadian bank account, which i ve kept aside for times in need.

2. The application process queries:

a. Total fee in CAD: $75(sponsor) + $475 (application fee) +$550 (RPRF)
do i pay all 3 fees online in advance and send receipts along with application to CPC-M ??
Or do i pay RPRF later when its being asked for (is RPRF paid online or through DD)??
Any other fee to be paid apart from these?

b. As i understand Medicals for my spouse and PCC has to be done in advance and has to be included in the app.
is it correct?
do they require medicals for Sponsor also??

Look forward for your valuable inputs.

Thanks everyone n wish u all faster processing in 2016 (hope LIBERALS prove wt they promised :) )

Hi,

1. CIC scrutinizes financial situation only if you're sponsoring your spouse and you also have dependents. In cases when you don't have any dependents, although you don't have to meet minimum income requirement, you have to show that you and your spouse will be able to support yourselves once she arrives in Canada. Hence, CIC asks for proof of any employment and income. As far as I know, to make sure you are not refused on the grounds that the VO doesn’t believe you and your spouse will be able to support yourselves, you need to show that you have a job offer in Canada. If you don't, however, you can show proof that you and your spouse will be able to get jobs in Canada: being fluent in English, your education, having marketable skills, job experience etc. All this should be mentioned on the application in form of a letter and attached documents to support it. Any proof that you have savings, investments, property would be very helpful as well.

2.
a) RPRF doesn't have to be paid upfront, however on the CIC website it says that it is recommended to pay it upfront so that once you get your approval for PR, you save time on making the payment and showing the proof.
b) Correct, both medical and PCC need to be done in advance and only for your spouse.

Good luck!:)

Hi and happy holidays!

I have applied to sponsor my wife from Poland - looks like we submitted our applications very close together!

We don't really have a concern about the address format - these address formats are standard across the majority of EU and CIC knows this. The Warsaw Visa office (and Canadian Embassy, for example) have this same address format as well.

Regarding sending with registered mail - I'm not sure, but I would sure hope so given the amount of confidential and personal information provided.

If you are still concerned, perhaps once you receive AOR you could call CIC to confirm the address that you submitted and reaffirm to them the street, number, etc.

All the best!

Hi,

yes, I'm sponsoring my husband from Poland, I hope the Warsaw visa office will process our applications quickly:)

thank you so much for your message, I started freaking out because 2 of my marriage certificates and another documents sent by Service Ontario never reached my address in Warsaw and I had to order another one to my parents' address in Canada. It's good to know CIC, unlike Service Ontario, knows the address format.

All the best! :)
