Sound strange. Are you sure it was an outland application? What was the location you filled in for your permanent residency (meaning, where did you say you permanently live?)

On the IMM0008, to « current country of residence », I mentioned: Canada until 2015-12-15, as at the time I sent it, (begin. Dec) the address was still Canada. Literally a week after I was leaving for Belgium, and now I came back in Jan as visitor for a bit to be with her but will go back in a month or so

In contact info, I mentioned my Belgian address as residency. Yes the package is outland as I had to include the specific Western Europe package.

I called them and they told me that Ottawa was currently helping some VO but still, I find it strange that it happens only in this case, or maybe there are casesI missed?

Yeah, this is confusing. I don't see why they would ask Ottawa to help with some applications, since Paris is already one of the fastest offices in the world. Why would they need Ottawa's help?

Is it possible you reporting your address as being in Canada, they assumed it was inland?

Does your SA confirmation letter state Ottawa as the VO?

I can log into my ecas now as well. It has 3 lines

When does the medical line usually appear?

Just to clarify, it is not unusual at all for you to have your application sent to the Ottawa VO.


And no it has nothing to do with them thinking it's an inland application, inland applications aren't processed in Ottawa anyway.

Probably because you were staying in Canada at the time you sent off the application.

Really, Landing_PR? Very sorry to hear -- and it makes me feel a little guilty that my timeline is running smoothly. Hang in there. 71 days feels long, but I think their process is a bit disorganized and it can take some longer than others.

Still no AOR here. Seems like people that their application was received on the same day as me (Dec 23rd) and some even after me already got theirs... Guess I have to wait a bit more. Hopefully AOR and SA will come one after the other.

Hi guys,

I logged to ECAS today and it says they started processing my husband's application on Feb. 15, 2016. I can safely assume that this is the acknowledgement from the VO. However, it seems strange that for the sponsor side it still shows as "In Process" and I am yet to receive the official sponsor approval email. Is it possible that CIC somehow missed out on the correspondence?

Same thing just happened to me today, minus the SA email. Finally got access to ECAS using sponsor information, whereas before I could only check it on applicant side using application number. I have these same lines on the sponsor side, but received no SA via email. Wondering what this status means?
