Just an update:

They requested RCMP clearance on my spouse and I found out she needs to come back to Canada to take her fingerprints and submit them electronically. The following is an excerpt from RCMP website:

rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/steps-etapes-eng.htm#s4

If you are outside of Canada:

Submitting electronic fingerprints to the RCMP is not currently available outside of Canada. However, you can contact accredited companies within Canada who will digitize ink fingerprints taken overseas and submit them electronically to the RCMP.

They didn't clearly communicate on how to obtain the RCMP clearance and that it is only done within Canada.

Anyways, if your spouse is still in Canada, make sure you take the fingerprints at a local police station. My spouse is now planning to come back to Canada as a visitor.

Any december applicants heard from london visa office?

I had to get an RCMP clearance for a work visa while I was abroad. I went to a Canadian Embassy and was able to do fingerprints there, but had to mail them off to a 3rd party company for processing. It was quick and easy, just had to pay $200 to get it done by the 3rd party company. Fingerprinting is free. It is a lot cheaper than having your wife fly all the way to Canada for fingerprints.

Good luck!

Nope - and it's very frustrating because I walk past the Canadian Embassy on Trafalgar Square every time I am working in London. Feel like popping in to hurry them up a bit but obviously that would do no good whatsoever!

On ecas says in process and medicals received.

*sigh*

We're heading to Canada in August - my partner has flights booked back to the UK in November - had hoped to hear before we leave but I guess we won't.

Hi all,
I just have a question. What is usual file transfer reason? Is it Eligibility? Does anybody know? Thanks a lot.

What do you mean the reason for file transfer, transfer to where?

The file gets transferred from Mississauga to VO abroad after the sponsor has been approved.

Yes, if you are the sponsoring person - it means they have qualified you as a sponsor like the person in within Canada has met the sponsorship requirements.

Me too. Mine has said that since late April/early May.

Our application has changed to 'in process' on July 20. Also an email from MCVO in regards to AOR2

Hey guys! When they say the app is in process, how long before decision made? Thanks and Godbless :)

congratz !

Finally - decision made.

With a few glitches in our FBI paperwork, my wife's application wasn't technically 'started' until June 3rd, although there was activity on her account since the initial rec'd date back in December. I'm guessing they did what they could with what they had (minus the FBI clearance) and then finished off when they finally rec'd the FBI docs.

So you could call it about 60 days total processing time, I suppose?
