Did you receive an email confirming the receipt of your application? If so, that is AOR.

Confirmed AOR, SA on Feb 24 by ecas using Receipt Number (IMM 5401).

When you were able to check ecas using the receipt number did you input the name and birth date of the sponsor or the applicant?

I send my application on December 5th. I received CIC email on February 18th, asking a new IMM008, but I didn't understand why, because the form that I've sent was validated and signed, but ok. I've already send a new one. Anyone know how long it's take to CIC evaluate my new form? my process will start from zero again?

Form IMM008 was updated in November, and then again just recently in February. Maybe that's why they asked for the most recent form? Sucks!

Lucky Duck! I called today and Mine was received Dec 2nd.... Still no AOR, though the CIC dude did have my application on his computer, so I guess that's a good sign.

I hope we don't ahve to fill in the new IMM008, I am seriously sick of filling out forms. Blerg

Since the rep you spoke with confirmed that they received your application on December 2nd I would consider that a verbal AOR.

If you look at the spreadsheet some people received SA without ever receiving AOR.

I called the In Canada CIC call centre number: 1888 242 2100. Just follow the instructions and you'll eventually get a human. I received a notice of delivery from Canada Post the other day and I was worried it was our AOR. Canada Post couldn't find any evidence of a letter, so I called CIC and asked me if they mailed me a letter. The answer was no, so then I asked very sweetly if they had received my application and he said yes.

It was pretty anticlimactic.

Just make sure you wait until 84 days from the day they received you application (not the day you sent it) before you give them a ring!

CIC has updated to 84 days....they are working on Dec2 applications

I think it's a bit hard to apply for a visiting visa unless you have a strong proof that you will go back to your country after your ' visit' is over like employment, house, etc. If they convince that you will go back then you will get a visa, if not they will just reject the application. Some people got approved and many got rejected. usually they want proof of fund, so they will require your bank statement. Check the visitor part of this immigration forum and you will find a lot of information.

Well it obviously wouldn't make sense to have a February 2015 form in a December 2014 application, so I wouldn't worry. MAYBE if you didn't have the updated November form (which I didn't either) they are requesting it for that reason... But I'm only speculating
