I just found out about the forums!
I applied to sponsor my husband from Lebanon December 17, 2014 and it arrived at CIC December 21, 2014.

I have a question about the SA letter. Does it come by mail or email? Also, for the AOR, how does that come in?

Also, is it normal that CIC is almost 3 months behind with the applications as they are still working on Nov 25th applications?

So many questions! Trying not to be stressed about all this! ???

Welcome saradan,

Generally sponsor approval will come by e-mail if you provided an e-mail address however it has been known for SA to come by mail. Some officers are old school and prefer snail mail to e-mail.

The processing time for sponsor approval varies throughout the year. When I applied in September it was 41 days, and 2 weeks ago it was 90 days. The Christmas holidays and the start of other visa streams in January affected the processing of sponsorship approval but it seems to be leveling out a bit now.
