Hi all,

I called cic right now and the agent told me that since i did not receive AOR it means that my file has not been transferred yet.. He said that without asking for my application file...

Although last week when i called cic the agent asked for my file number and checked my status and said my file was transferred to paris office..

I am confused now..
since an agent already told you that your file has been transferred to Paris why calling again.

I wanted to ask them when should i expect AOR.. So he told me as long as you did not receive AOR yet it means your file has not been transferred and is still in canada.. Ans you have to wait for the AOR..

Only 45/60 days for MR from PER that is really fast, I am waiting for about 60 days and no AOR from WVO.

I got my AOR 43 days after my PER. Paris Vo is sending MRs really fast but later it takes about 4 months to PPR.

Detailed process for CIC :-

...

Discretion of the Visa Officer

I. Positive Discretion

The visa officer can use his/her discretionary power to approve an application under the “Substitute Evaluation” provisions of the new regulations if the visa officer feels that the applicant is likely to become economically established in Canada or the applicant's point total is not a sufficient indicator of whether or not the applicant may become economically established in Canada.
...

Thanks for the comprehensive info on the process. Regarding the VO's discretion, I'm curious to know how an application with total point below 67 can get past the Eligibility stage at CIO and go to VO for a reconsideration. Thanks.

psicolala - From your timeline your MR came 43 days after PER. Does it mean your AOR and MR came on the same day?

The global spreadsheet shows 18 applicants of Dec-2014 on this forum have already had MR, PPR or even visa issued.

I didnt receive AOR. Paris doesnt send AOR anymore. I got the MR/PCC/RPRF from Paris directly.

Yes, OUR VO was NDVO but we received AOR from Colombo on 7th April. We are still waiting for Mr and the second line has still not updated.

Hoping for the best.
