Hi everyone,

Just wanted to inform you all about my recent experience of calling CIC from outside Canada.

I applied on NOC 2133 Electrical and Electronics Engineer and the app was received by CIC on 29th December at 9.37am, confirmed by DHL.

As haven't heard anything from cic till now, I gave them a call today. The agent asked for UCI number, which I don't have. Then he mentioned I only can wait as they are going through the applications slowly. I also asked, how will I be informed in case my package is returned ? He then replied, via email or explanation letter within the package. I was expecting the agent will ask for Lastname, firstname, DOB to provide the status update as I don't have an UCI (As mentioned by other members on the forum).

I guess, will know something positive or negative by the first half of April.

Question: Can I already submit Express Entry request while the FSWP2014 being processed?

I would try again. You are right when you said agent should ask for you last name , date of birth if you dont have your UCI. Also has your CC/DD charged? I think it is more beneficial to call after you have been charged because that means one of the agents went through your application. EE entry and FSW are different. You dont have to wait for FSW to be charged to apply for EE. While filing up profile, they will ask you whether you have applied for Canadian PR before, for you , you said say no, then when you get your file number, update your profile.

I think, its the completed applications. However, I am not sure. Which NOC did you apply under?

I applied under NOC 4151. Based on my call to CIC they haven't processed my application yet. It was received Dec 30th at 11: 27 am.
