Yes, CIC agents are mostly trying to get off a call at the earliest. Only a small number of agents are really helpful. With my numerous interactions with them I have learnt some standard answers they give. I am a 29 Dec applicant so these responses maybe standard to other applicants as well.
1) I cannot see your file in the system. It's maybe with them.
2) The UCI number has not been assigned yet.
3) Please wait till March 15 (29 Dec), Please wait till March End (30 Dec), Please wait till First week of April (31 Dec) and if you don't hear from us till the mentioned date, give us a call.
4) We received your file on this this date and is currently under process.
5) Your file has gone in for a scan. That is all the information we have. Wait till you hear from CIO.
6) Your application is with us but we have not opened it yet.
7) We have not yet started processing December applications.
8. Its too early to give out any information yet, please wait for 10 weeks.
We get real status of our application when they put the call on hold and return after 2 or 3 minutes with the actual status. I will suggest the late Dec applicants to call CIC every week. Especially the 0112 applicants, believe it or not you might hear disappointment. Called CIC yesterday again about my friends application confirmation and on the third attempt they confirmed it was returned due to cap.
