Am a December 2014 applicant too ...

My application is received on 29th December by CIC.

Any suggestions on how to check the ECAS status? Am assuming we will need to receive the AOR to check the ECAS status. Please advise if otherwise.

It will take anywhere around 1 -4 months to receive AOR.

ECAS get activated 2 to 3 days after you receive your AOR.

If you put your email in the form, you'll probably receive an email AOR rather than a letter.
Usually it take from 1 to 4 months to receive it.

The table below shows the processing time from receipt of application to finalization for 80 percent of cases processed between October 1, 2013 and September 30, 2014:

Routine citizenship applications: 24 months

Non-routine citizenship applications: 36 months

Will it take 2 years for this

Sooner the better!
Be positive, Your RQ and application should get processed simultaneously.
Better than waiting for years after your test date, I guess!!

Superadel, your case looks very similar to mine. Can you share a little more detail about you? Do you have travels outside Canada? Did you change address recently? Is your case family or single? Which city did you apply from? What office issued your RQ? What does your ECAS say?

How much fee did you guys paid for the Grant of citizenship. I applied of Dec 31, 2014 and paid $400. I have been told it is suppose to be $630? Does that mean my application will be returned or is there any way I can make the difference pay? ???
