Hi everyone,

Since our VO is Ottawa, I spent some time looking at the prior months' outland spreadsheets, and the most recent activity for Ottawa that I could find is that three of the applications sent in early August received PRs on February 24. That comes out to about 6.5 months, which is encouraging -- if Ottawa keeps up this rate we will hopefully see our first PRs by late June!

It's a long wait but it is encouraging to see others getting close to the end!

I saw that, too. I am really hoping Ottawa continues that pattern. How amazing would it be if all us Ottawa applicants got good news all around the same time?
I'm really hoping that the hubby is up here by the end of August. That's the tentative plan, even if he isn't a PR yet. Unless by some miracle it happens earlier!

Hello, is there anyone going through Buenos Aires VO?

I sent the application on December 16th
it was received on December the 20th
I got an Email on January 26th
My Ecas only says Application received on December 20th.

Since I sent the medical exams and everything I'm starting to be a bit worried because we haven't hear from them since they told me that it will be sent to Buenos Aires on January 26, and CIC didn't notify anything to my husband who is the one being sponsored.

hi there, i am a visitor in Canada as my husband is a canadian citizen my visitor permit expires apr 23 so i have been advised to apply from outside canada so that i can travel back and forth while in processing, does that sound right to anyone here? i have to send off my papers pretty quick and it sure would be great to be able to cross the border. I am from the usa. any info would be appreciated

Hi Lambeen, you should take a look at the topic "Spousal Sponsorship" that is prominently featured in the Family Class Sponsorship section. What you are suggesting is probably right but you should make sure you understand all the subtleties since it's a complex process!

Mine has increased from 22months....to 25months.

I'm in tears

Sorry to hear that, similar boat here as London has went up 1 month nowhere near as bad but still does not help.

Hope they manage to cut yours down a bit Wifey!!!

mine increased tooo, from 18 months to 22 =/
i really dont get it, all the countries around has less than 13 months, im starting to think its personal xD

Vienna went up a month too, and considering they still have plenty of applications which are way over due (from 2012), I'm starting to lose hope that my visa will be ready by the end of this year :(

@ Wifey: really sorry to hear about your processing time, I can't imagine what is like to have to wait for so long. I think everyone that goes through this immigration process should be handed out a medal or something at the landing :)

Mine went from 14 months to 11 months... Not bad, São Paulo.

The immigration dataset has been updated.
http://data.gc.ca/data/en/dataset/427337d0-7c36-4fed-8428-c6a63f8c19b3

So, for us who are going through Ottawa, the times are:
20% - 7 months, 30% - 7 months, 50% - 9 months, 70% - 12 months, and 80% - 15 months.

That's not too bad, considering it's a time frame that includes the strike last year. Perhaps they're only going to get quicker with processing. Fingers crossed!

This is interesting to see. Looking at my VO, the times aren't actually that bad (80% - 14 months), although in the Vienna thread there are 5 cases from 2012 (and probably many more who aren't on this forum) but I guess that falls under the category of the remaining 20% who take longer to process than the 80%.

Hmmmm, everyone would be thinking..... " I hope I am not in the last 20%!" Thanks for this update!

No, that doesn't sound right..... you need to apply for an extension of your Visitor permit... you should be able to get another 6 moths extension..... now is the time to apply for the extension... since they require a month before for the application I think... good luck....
