My husband is pretty chill about the whole thing, too! I actually made him rewrite most of his answers for his application because I thought they were too simple. He's convinced that we're an easy case (American and Canadian, no kids, first marriage each, lots of supporting evidence, etc...), which actually seems to have nothing to do with the potential processing time. Either way, we've finally settled on a timeline, which is exciting! Unless the PR comes soon, he's moving up by the end of the summer to wait out the rest of the process. I can't wait to finally live together as a married couple!

It must be a man-thing! LOL! That's amazing that you get to wait out the process together! I've considered moving to Ja..but it just isn't feasible lol! *Sigh* - today at work..I was on the verge of tears and decided it's time for a vacay! *fingers crossed my vacation request during busy season gets accepted!*

*hugs* I hope you get some time off! It can be so hard to be apart. I always try and remind myself how lucky I am when I'm down about it. He only lives 3 1/2 hours (driving) away and we get to visit every weekend. It's a much easier situation than a lot of other couples who have to wait this out away from each other and on opposite ends of the world. It takes a strong person and strong relationship to be able to do that. But it'll all be worth it for us when this is done! I figure it prolongs the 'honeymoon' stage! :)

I made him rewrite the forms too! If we ever have an interview, I think we will fail badly. He doesn't remember the first day we met (it was back in 1999), he can never decide on the year I was born in (he almost always says one year before or one year after my actual birth year), etc.

We're also lucky that we get to wait out the process together. It would've been terrible if he had to be in Canada for this.

Ok we are on the same boat..my hubbys soo dumb lol

Has anyone received AOR from the VO yet? I heard my VO doesn't send AORs much, which is a bit stressing. How will I know they received my application?

This application will probably cost me some shrink money in the future. I bet I will be emotionally traumatized by the end. And my husband is so relaxed about it, so optimistic. He says: "Don't worry, everything will go fast and smoothly". He refuses to read any info of the process, he doesn't know any of the horror stories that I read. He thinks that just because we have been married for 5 years, they will give me PR as soon as they open our file. hahaha

Ha! Hubby actually printed a form for immigration that had my birth year wrong! I told him he's going to prematurely age me! :P

come on ladies :-X
we are bound to say " chill out" , "everything will be soon" , "AOR and PR will come soon , no worries blah blah blah....".....
otherwise it too difficult to convince or soothe.....
i know its hard for my wife also to be there and me in Canada. we have a kid too :(...so totally frustrated with the process and timeline....
hope all the families reunite soon.

from past two days..very slow..
hope tomo..we could see CIC mails to all their inboxes....

men are men :)

i sent my application on 13 december when i tried
to mail the immigration about my process visa as student
they sent dis mail:
Please note that your study permit application has been assessed by a visa officer and presently pending receipt of the security checks results. You will be contacted once a final decision is taken on the file.

anyone know if i got accepted or what am so nervous
am waiting all the time

Okay, I checked the CIC again and found our case and a Decision has been made!!! They said they sent a letter out on Jan. 9th....can't wait. I signed up for email notification and saw others received the Sponsor approval that way - hope that's not a bad sign for us. Fingers crossed for an approval letter. Can't imagine what we'll do if we're rejected.

Good luck everyone and thanks for adding me to the spreadsheet!

Nope My wife is my sponsor and she is totaly "it will all be fine in its own time" even getting her to check her email on a daily basis for some reply is met with rolling eyes lol

Hi I think there is a small mistake on my spreadsheet, 11th of Jan was when I got my AoR from my VO, not Decision Made. I wish!! Hahaha.

So I guess from this point we're waiting a few months to get our AIP? Hopefully I get an officer whose NY resolution was to plow through applications this year ;)

It's def a 'man-thing'.... It's good in a way that 1 person keeps his cool else 2 frustrated minds would not get us anywhere!!

Staying apart isn't easy, but the hope that we would be united soon keeps me going. I got rejected for TRV to Canada twice so there's no way I can visit my husband in Canada. :'(

1 thing I keep saying to myself is "God's time is the best time". And I know for sure that he will provide in his time.. :)

So hang in there folks, we're almost there!!!

Hahaha. men are men :) I was like "how can you even relax when we don't even know what's gonna happen?? And my husband just shrugs it off. I am not mad though but sometimes, I'm losing my mind when I hear the words "its okay" haha.

Hi shikaf! I am not well versed with regards to student visas. Lets wait maybe somebody can answer your question here. :) But, while were waiting, you might want to check out these topics, as this is specifically for international students.
