Unfortunately, the Manila VO doesn't give AOR according to many people on this forum. But you did tell me something that answers my question when you said people get Medical received with SA. Since the SA comes from CPC-M, it appears that they also do the matching for the medical.

Regarding this note in ECAS, I'm not 100% sure how they do it and where they do it, but I've been looking at my GCSM notes and have gathered some facts that could help us understand this better.

In my GCSM notes, under medical it says it was created on 7 Jan 2014 and updated on 24 Jan 2014. I received SA on 8 Jan (1 day after my medical was created in my file) and on 27 Jan the ECAS status changed to "Medical results have been received" (that is 3 days after the update mentioned in the notes). One other interesting fact is that my file got to the VO on 12 Jan 2014. So when ECAS changed to that message, the file was in Vienna. I never received an AOR from my VO, that's one of the reasons I ordered the notes, to make sure it's there.
One last thing, which I found interesting is, ever since my file got to Vienna, it was looked at by 5 different people, and then it went back to the Registry (that means probably a dark room with big piles of applications :) )

Ava, thanks for that info! I feel like we are all playing Clue, trying to solve a mystery ;D I wonder why 5 people take a look at a file.

Thanks for sharing that, it is interesting. You taught me something I didn't know before which is that I can order GCSM notes to insure my application reached the VO. I thought the GCSM notes were only after application is rejected/denied.

Thanks for posting this, Avadava. I know it's probably been asked a million times, but there's no risk of delaying your application by ordering these, right?

Not if you order the electronic notes. Only when you are ordering the paper file, your application gets delayed, because they have to take it out and copy each page.

In my case, I got SA on 28 January however I was still worried why my medicals hadn't been updated as everybody else's medicals had been updated within a week of SA. I made my spouse call CPC-M to find out if my file has been transferred to the VO as Abu Dhabi VO sends AOR/ADR after about 3 months of file transfer.

The call centre said that my file had been forwarded to the VO on 31 January. That put my mind to ease and finally on 10 March, my medicals were updated on Ecas. :)

Well that's great :) Good that there is some kind of communication. I wonder how long it will take to get 'in process'? Do you know what kind of timeline you've been seeing with other people from Abu Dhabi?
The quarterly update has processing time for Abu Dhabi at 15 months however the AOR states that the current average processing time for family class is 6 to 12 months.

You can check my signature for the link to the applicants under ADVO.

JenPin, the call centre told you that your file had been forwarded to the VO on 31 January but that information did not show on your ECAS? Perhaps I should call the call centre because my wife's VO doesn't send out AOR and therefore, I do not have a way to know when the application is transfered there. Sure, the SA letter letter says "your application was trasfered to the VO", but that is just the wrong wording. The correct wording is "your application will be trasfered to the VO." I'm sure my wife's file didn't go 6000 miles in a week, only Express mail would have accomplished that which is not being used. CIC, as part of the federal government of canada, does business in the most ecconomical means.

In my case, the file arrived from Canada to Vienna in 4 days! Keep in mind that the files do not get sent by regular means (eg express mail, post, courier and what not), they use diplomatic means (that means the documents are transported in a very secure way and by air - which can get anywhere in world in less than 24 hours). In my GCSM notes it says the file was transferred on January 8, (same day as SA), on January 10 there was an update on the transfer saying "In transit" and on January 12 the Vienna office updated the file as "Received".

This is very encouraging. I didn't think it would be send out the same day as the SA.....great news. I would get up and dance but my coworkers would think I lost my mind.

To know the status of your application, you would need to order the GCSM notes. However its too early for you to order it as you are a March 2014 applicant.

I understand the anxiety and concern, but unfortunately this is how things work. All we can do is wait! :(
