Do not be dismayed JenPin..there is no rhyme/reason ...I wouldn't be surprised if you get something sooner than you think :)

I cant wait for the day when I see some progress on my application....

I've been away from my spouse for 11 months now and the average processing time for Abu Dhabi VO is 18 months!!! I just hope the wait is really short and I survive the wait!!

CanadianWifey89, I think you have a sixth sense coz everytime you say we will hear from CIC, that's when we get an outpour of updates.. :P Keep it coming!!! :-*

What are "AOR" and "SA"?

AOR - Acknowledgement Of Receipt (when CIC informs you they received your application)
SA - Sponsor Approval (when they inform you that your sponsor has met all the eligibility requirements to sponsor a relative)

Thank you. I thought the case processing centre in Mississauga doesn't bother with sending out acknowledgment of receipt. That is why I used private currier and requested signature.

It's always the best thing to send via courrier, cause then you have the peace of mind that it did arrive. It looks like AORs can be sent from 1 week of CIC receiving your application up to the same time or even after you receive SA.

I'm hoping that CIC gets all the remaining AORs and most SAs by tomorrow!!

Do they send out the AORs and SAs via email? Email would certainly be faster than mailing letters.

If you provided them with your email in your application, then they will correspond with you via email. Just make sure you check your junk mail folder to be sure that you don't miss anything from them.

Awwwww <3
Agreed!!! Get December applicants out of Mississauga!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

I have a question. I received a UCI number and Application number together with the SA yesterday.

I have tried to check ECAS using the UCI and my husband's info (name, DoB, etc.) but every time I try, I get this message:

"We were not able to identify you using the information you provided. There could be three possible reasons:

Please be sure the information you entered is correct and then try again.
This service is only available to clients with applications in process. We may have received your application but not begun processing it yet. The following link may help you determine if your application is being processed:
Application Processing Times
At this time, you may use this on-line service if you have:
sponsored a member of the family class;
applied for permanent residence from within or outside Canada;
applied for a permanent resident card (replacement or renewal);
applied for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship);
applied for Canadian citizenship for a person adopted by a Canadian citizen (on or after January 1, 1947);
applied for a citizenship certificate (proof of Canadian citizenship);
applied to renounce Canadian citizenship; or
applied to resume Canadian citizenship."

Is there something I'm doing wrong? On this page http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp, I chose: Category - Sponsorship - Sponsorship of a Spouse under the Family Class living outside Canada.

Have tried putting my name instead of my husband's, but same result.
