I currently have a BOWP and it is valid till Aug 2015. I am aware that WP is not a travel document and i need to get a visa for travelling back to Canada (if i happen to visit US).

Kindly let me know if anybody has applied for temporary resident visa with an Open Work permit. Hoping to understand the procedure and any items we need to pay attention in the application.

I applied TRV with BOWP. I applied online. Created two My CIC accounts, one for me and one for my wife and applied individually. Got it within 14 days. You don't require TRV if you're driving to US.

I recently applied for a TRV with a BOWP. Arrived at CIC on Monday, tracker activated the same Friday. I'd say paper route is a lot faster because you don't have to wait for them to request your passport but you mail it in with your application.

Never had a problem re-entering Canada with just open work permit and passport. Have done it many times back from the US and once from England.

Unfortunately, some of us from various countries need a visa to re-enter Canada :|

Hi,

Could you please let me know if the whole process including sending the passport took 14 days?

Also when you say 14 days is it 14 working days or 14 calendar days?

If possible, check with your DMP if you reports were normal.

It was normal. She also did the kidney functional test because of high blood pressure and passed.

I don't want to see any surprise of new test from CIC. That's why I am worried and asking.

No I have not received the PPR request.

Looking at the PPR flow for all applicants, what ever my MP told might be correct. I will be getting PPR request on December 15th only since that's the date where my application will be looked by another VO.
