Landed and became a PR this morning...
venue : Cornwall, ON
time: 8 AM
No issue with the US authorities in getting refusal form..
Canadian officer was also good.. He asked you where do you live? I said 'quebec'.
do you have a CSQ - No
where are you headed after you did landing : to Quebec, for 2 weeks in order to settle things about my job and my wife's medical appointments.
I showed him the 'confirmation of accommodation' letter from my friend in Toronto. I also showed him the letter of breaking the rental agreement from my present landlord in Quebec. I showed him the emails from toronto employers that showed interest in my profile.
All the time he was suggesting me to come to landing once I am done shifting to Toronto (ON), I was requesting him to consider it now because I would not be able to find a job If dont have a PR (Presently under closed WP). I showed him the bank statements which showed that I have been saving and not investing anything at all in Quebec.
Finally he agreed to proceed.
I would not say the officer was grumpy. He was just doing his duty, asking relevant questions and listening to the answers I have provided. it took about an hour to convince him that I am going to live in quebec only for a couple of weeks.
In the end we came out of the border office with smiling faces. It was a great day..
thank you very very much to this forum and all the members in it..
One final advice i would like to give for the people ''Never ever lie to the border service officers. if they think you are lying, you are screwd''. ...
thanks again, again , again and again...
good luck to the men/women in waiting..
Now, the wait for PR CARDS began.
