Hi everyone,

I just received my PPR but the problem that I have is that I've already purchased tickets to Cuba on Nov 28th and I'll be back on Dec 15th and they are asking for the passport to be received within 30 days (i.e. Dec 11th). So I either have to cancel my trip or just send the passport tomorrow, hoping that they'll process it fast enough so that I can get it before my flight.

I was wondering if anybody has experienced something like this and if anybody has asked for a delay (although it says in the email that the issuance of visa cannot be delayed!!!)

any comment would be greatly appreciated...
After the long period without PPR (almost 3 months) they are working very fast. I send my passport on Oct 28th and get it back on Nov 12th (2 days of delay because of Canada post). If you send it tomorrow, it will get there on 17th and you will probably get it back around 26th. Do not forget to take note of tracking number of your returning envelop. It is risky but can work. In parallel I would let the trip on hold.

I did contact my MP and he said its being reviewed by a Visa officer. He said I passed the eligibility; he says when I received AOR...that is the sign that I passed eligibility. Is it true !! any comments would be appreciated.

Landed and became a PR this morning...

venue : Cornwall, ON

time: 8 AM

No issue with the US authorities in getting refusal form..

Canadian officer was also good.. He asked you where do you live? I said 'quebec'.

do you have a CSQ - No
where are you headed after you did landing : to Quebec, for 2 weeks in order to settle things about my job and my wife's medical appointments.

I showed him the 'confirmation of accommodation' letter from my friend in Toronto. I also showed him the letter of breaking the rental agreement from my present landlord in Quebec. I showed him the emails from toronto employers that showed interest in my profile.

All the time he was suggesting me to come to landing once I am done shifting to Toronto (ON), I was requesting him to consider it now because I would not be able to find a job If dont have a PR (Presently under closed WP). I showed him the bank statements which showed that I have been saving and not investing anything at all in Quebec.

Finally he agreed to proceed.

I would not say the officer was grumpy. He was just doing his duty, asking relevant questions and listening to the answers I have provided. it took about an hour to convince him that I am going to live in quebec only for a couple of weeks.

In the end we came out of the border office with smiling faces. It was a great day..

thank you very very much to this forum and all the members in it..

One final advice i would like to give for the people ''Never ever lie to the border service officers. if they think you are lying, you are screwd''. ...

thanks again, again , again and again...

good luck to the men/women in waiting..

Now, the wait for PR CARDS began.

Congratulations...I am happy for you. Based on the questions you were asked, I think, this could be even more harder if you land in Quebec. I hope, we receive our passport soon too. Enjoy your life.

Yeah... It was a great suggestion from you...

Also going there early was very advantageous as it gave me the time for me and the officer to discuss...

I was the only one there..also the border was a small one...

Congrats 'runMan', we are happy for you!! :)

You made it due to good preparation (& good effort for asking questions before jumping for landing) on your part!

BTW what address did you provide the officer for the PR card delivery?

Cheers!

Thank you... I gave him the accommodation letter from Toronto friend... and the officer took down the same address for PR cards.

I landed in Carway on Thursday afternoon! The US officers were so friendly and professional. It took less than 10 minutes to get my administrative refusal. First question the Canadian officer asked me was why I did not book an appointment in Edmonton. He took my passport and COPR and told me to wait in the waiting room. The office was quiet and there was no one there. He called me out in 15 or so minutes and asked me to sign my COPR. He handed me a document and said, "You are now a Permanent Resident, read this document, bye!" He turned away and walked to the back. I was stunned by how abrupt he was but I was too happy to let it get to me. He didn't ask me for my work permit or old documents!

Thanks to everyone on this forum! So many helpful people and lots of information here! All the best to everyone still waiting!

Hi everyone... I'm a December applicant for CEC immigration stream. Is there anyone still waiting for the PPR? I did my Medical Exam around end of August, paid my FPRF around end of September....
Now I'm still waiting for my PPR.....for almost 2 months without any news...

CIC received my application around early December in 2013. It's almost 1 year since I applied for it... So I was considered if I should order a note to check what's going on with my case...

Let me know if anyone has the same situation with me, thanks for all the help!
